My SONY vaio MODEL IS ( sve15118fnb ) FN1 FN5 FN6 FN7 FN12 is not working but FN2 FN3 FN4 volume keys working fine

Most Toshiba laptops can be factory reset by holding down the 0 key (zero) then turn the unit on and keep holding down the 0 key when you hear long bleep it should then be loading system files at that time you can release the 0 key and it will continue to load fresh copy of your windows system. If this is a new unit to you then it should not be a problem but if you have anything stored then just a warning it will delete any files in documents, pictures etc. good luck!

Built in microphone not working

Have you been on to the Sony website to find drivers for these components? It's possible that Sony haven't got drivers for Win8 yet. Did you run the Windows upgrade preparation tool before upgrading?

My shift keys do not work on my sony vaio. I have a VGN-N130G. Neither shift key works, however, the CAPS LOCK works. It was fine yesterday. I did restart the computer and it did not fix the problem.

sad to say but if you want you can replace it with new one. or you can use a usb keyboard. or just let it be until some of the keys become defective. its your choice.

The arrow is frozen on my laptop other than that the pc is working normally

Could be the mouse lock key. I am unsure as to which key it is on yours. Mine is the F9 key. it will have a picture of 2 mouse on , 1 with a no go sign over it (circle with a diagonal line through) try pressing the "fn" key and F9 and see if this unlocks the cursor.

Sony Vaio running Vista Home Premium has stoped

Sony Vaio is one of the most unreliable laptops known to man, and some known to monkeys. My suggestion- save everything you want on cds/dvds and reload whendoze. After that, send it back to Sony if you can.

Upgrade memory

all u need to do is that go to this website and follow the steps....
Sony’s esupport site

or if this doesnt work then try this website

on the bottom of the laptopThere is a panel with 2 screws in it. normally this panel will have a picture of ram on it or will denote it somehow. after the two screws are removed the panel can be removed and you will see the 2 SODIMM slots one will be occupied and you can place your module in the second one.
