Use copy,  (or cp in linux),  it's a C program,  if you want you can find the source code if you are resourceful.  see below.  If you want a c++ program source code, take the source you found and do "rename copy.c copy.cpp" ;~).  It is silly to use an OO language to do a trivial utility.
see usage below:

C:\Users\ajm>ver > file1
C:\Users\ajm>ver > file2

C:\Users\ajm>copy file1+file2 file3 file1 file2         1 file(s) copied.
C:\Users\ajm> C:\Users\ajm>dir file*  Volume in drive C is SQ004740V04  Volume Serial Number is 72CF-0846
 Directory of C:\Users\ajm

Installed software but then lost all contents

If you mean that you installed your OS and erased all your files, then they may be gone for good. Recuva is a great program for restoring lost files, may be worth trying (it's free). But use your computer as little as possible before attempting this, any hard disk activity may be overwriting data you want to restore. The safest way to use this program is to install it on another computer, hook up the hard drive from the affected machine and scan it for recoverable files.

I have save an excel file on desktop. When I clicked to open it, it did not show contents and a message was poped up saying that there is a problem of sending command to the program.

Try make a copy of the file and open it in another computer. Then, save the file as a old Excel file.
Maybe... but other possibility is that the file is corrupted :-(

My computor is running slow and freezing up.

Try freeing as much memory as possible to correct the problem.

turn off any programs running in the background by checking the ICONS in the lower right side of the screen near the clock area. use your mouse and right click on any pictures shown there and choose "exit" or "close".

then run disk clean. If you are using win xp, go to start, programs, accessories and then system tools. Slide over to clean desk and click on it.

It will ask you if you want to clean "C" drive - this is fine!

Check all the boxes when the window asks which files to handle. Use the arrow key and make sure you get them all. Then click ok.

When its finished running then run disk defrag.

go to start, programs, accessories system tools and then disk defrag. you want to defrag "c" drive and click the degrag button at the bottom to start it.

this may take a while to complete. when finished, reboot the pc. Then go to windows update and run a scan to update files. Install the updates, restart one more time and this should correct the problem.

We have a script which generates CSV file from DOS based paradox 4.0 table. Please let me know if there a way to get the report with table column description as the first row with the report generation.

What scripting language are you using?

In general, I'd say it wouldn't be hard, generically, you could parse the query and/or results to get the description.

Alternately, if your reports always use the same fields in the same order, simply write the headers to a file then append the results of your query (append instead of write).

Just signed up for free tral through aol and Im unable to down load softwear indicates "the contents of this file cannot be unpacked".i spoke with an aol rep.and they directed me to this site...

The contents of this file cannot be unpacked. This means that the executable you are attempting to run has been corrupted.
  1. Obtain another copy of the file, verify its integrity, and try again.
  2. Another option is to request a CD from AOL, which is free.
  3. The only other option I can think of is to download the AOL setup from the Alternate AOL Download site here:
  4. You could also try downloading this file from another computer with a good internet connection.

Using Entourage 2004 (11.4.0) on Mac OSX 10.3.9. When I send an email, no problem, but when I attach a file, the attachment isn't attached at the other end, and the content of the email all runs on with...

You message seems to be incomplete here too. ut no worries. If you have finally decided to get rid of your existing email and move to different one than i would suggest you to use Google Thunderbird.
It is open source for everyone and very easy to configure. Also if has both options for Windows and Mac.

You can ask me if you have any question(s) or confusion(s) while downloading and installing the thunderbird.

Where i can get software for C Programing language and what is the software name...........?

STEP 1 : Download the Borland Compiler
STEP2 : Run the setup program
By default, it should install everything to C:\Borland\BCC55

STEP 3 : Add the /bin directory to the system PATH

>C:\Borland\BCC55\bin\bcc32 OR >c32

After the setup program is run (step 2), a whole bunch of executable programs are placed in a new directory : C:\Borland\BCC55\Bin. This step makes it possible for the Operating System (Windows) to find these new executables by name. If you don't do this, then you will need to specify the full path to bcc32 every time you use it.

To do this on Windows XP
Bring up the Environmental Variables :

•Right Click "My Computer" ( Depending on how your system is set-up, "My Computer" is either on your Desktop or in your Start Menu )
•Select "Properties"
•Activate the "Advanced" Tab
•Click the "Environmental Variables" Button
Append ";C:\Borland\BCC44\bin" to the PATH variable (figure 3-2)

•Select the PATH variable under User Variables
Note: The PATH variable may appear under both System Variables and User Variables. This How-To changes the User Variable.
•Click the EDIT button below the list
•In the "Edit User Variable" box that pops up, move the cursor to the end of the Variable Value field
•Add a semi-colon ";" to the end of the current value
Note: If the value is empty, then you do not need to add a semi-colon
•Add the path "C:\Borland\BCC55\bin" after the semi-colon
•"OK" your way out of the dialogs

STEP 4 : Set up some configuration files
you should create a configuration file for the bcc32 program that tells it where to find its libraries and include files.
•The file should be named bcc32.cfg
•It should be placed in the same bin directory where bcc32.exe is located
•The contents of the file are the command line options for bcc32 stating the location of include files and libraries:
