Mic problim

If there is no sound heard by the caller then it is possible that the mic of the phone is faulty. You have to check if the mic port is clogged with dirt and so blocks the mic. If so remove panel and clean.
Also you can confirm by using a handfree on the phone. If the head set mic works well there is no fault on the phone motherboard and the solution can be a new mic or a faulty external terminal which can be cleaned.

I have a Nokia 2700 mobile phone and when someone calls me I can hear them but they cannot hear me????

You phone has a fault with the MIC within . Have the small port holes to the mics cleaned out so as to prevent accumulation of dirt in blocking the voice to the MIC.
If this had not helped then you will need expertise to open and check on the board and mic, test individually for working , if not replace the MIC.

When calling another phone i hear the party but they can not hear me

This is due to one of two reasons.
It is either your phone is on mute or you have a broken mic.
You should try to make a call and ensure that the mic is not on the mute setting. This will prevent the receiver from hearing whatever you are saying as it will render the mic inactive unless you deactivate this function and make the mic work.
On the other hand, you may have a faulty mic that needs to be repaired or replaced. If this is the problem, you have to take it to a repairer who would help you examine the mic and detect the exact fault. It should not be very difficult to replace the mic depending on the type of phone you are using.
Hope this helped you? Please comment for more information and thank you for using FixYa.

Mic problem i change mic but it not working

The fault can be the mic input amplifier which is not working to increment the signal to the desired level to be fed into the circuit.
So you will need to trace the signal path if you are confirmed with the mic connection and type.
It is fault in the mother board.

The person on the other end cannot hear me. i hav to scream at them for them to hear me like thers no mic

this is because the mouthpiece of your phone is defective. its either the mouthpiece is fault and needs replacement or there is dust on the mic hole, blocking it from function.

Use a phone screw driver to open up the phone, clean the mouthpiece hole, use a tiny pin to through dirt or dust that may be blocking the mouthpiece hole. couple the phone back ans try again.

If the problem still persists, then it means you will have to change the mouthpiece entirely. Go to any phone part accessories shop/store within your vicinity, buy a new mouth piece for your phone model, do the replacement and your phone should be perfect again.

Also, before you change the mouthpiece, you still have an option of using a hands-free (earphone) to receive and make calls till you replace the phone's mouthpiece. The hands-free hands-free (earphone) has it own mic/mouthpiece so its definitely going to work.

I hope the above solves your problem. Let me know is you still need further assistance or clarification and I will be glad to respond or reply back to you.

Good Luck

How to replace mic on Sony Ericsson W580i

It's actually quite simple to replace the mic. At the bottom of the phone directly to the south of the keypad the cover comes off with a plectrum (guitar pick) and the mic is underneath on a membrane. The mic itself will just pull away from the membrane and then you simply slot the new mic in it's place (be careful not to damage the membrane).

However, in my experience mic problems on the W580i are never actually caused by the mic itself, Mic problems are almost always caused by a damaged internal ribbon cable or membrane, so please don't waste your time with the above unless you are absolutely sure the mic is at fault.
