Question about HP PSC 1410v All-in-One Printer

Dell a960 I Installed a brand new color cartridge to my dell a960 all in one printer and keep getting an error message that reads, missing color cartridge. which of course i am not..... I have taken it out and reinstalled it, several times, I have attemped to align it. I have attempted to clean it. (even tho it is brand new) I know the tape is not on it. It looks exactly like the one I am removing... Is it possible that the cartridge is defective from the factory? It is not registering.... If I put the old cartridge back in (even tho it is out of color ink), it is fine and works. I do not get the error message. It of course doesn't print the color.... because it is empty! Besides ordering a new cartridge.... any suggestion. Thanks LEC

I cannot offer a solution. However, I can attest to the EXACT same problem word-for-word. Can someone please suggest a solution?

I get a cartridge missing message in a Dell 810 printer


I am having the exact same problem. Just got my cartridge refilled, and whenever I hit the print command, I keep getting the message "printer cartridge missing." It's obviously there! gaahhh, so annoying! I hate dell.

I keep getting a cartridge 50C cartridge error on my printer. What can I do to fix it? I can't print just anything. The test printer works but I can't print anything else.

Regarding the Dell A940 "Error 50c"....the user guide doesn't seem to mention "Error 50c". They do, however, mention a "Cartridge Error" on page 52 of the manual. They claim this means that the printer has detected a short circuit (fuse/resister) in the cartridge. As you may or may not have noticed in the manual, this is what they recommend doing about it:

1) Press Power to turn the printer off.

2) Lift the printer cover/lid (scanner unit) until the scanner support holds it open.

3) Turn the printer on.
The ink cartridge carrier moves and stops at the loading position unless the printer is busy.

4) Remove the color ink cartridge.

5) Lower the printer (scanner unit) until it is completely closed.
If the error message displays again, replace the black cartridge with a new black cartridge.

If the error message does not display, repeat steps 1–3 and then go to step 6.

6) Reinstall the color cartridge and remove the black ink cartridge.

7) Lower the printer (scanner unit) until it is completely closed.

If the error message displays again, replace the color cartridge with a new
color cartridge.
If there is no error message (indicated by flashing lights), repeat steps 1–3 and then reinstall both ink cartridges.
8) Lower the printer (scanner unit) until it is completely closed.

If you get the error message again, while both cartridges are installed, replace both of the cartridges.

Basically, what they want you to determine is,....if the short circuit is with the "black ink" cartridge or the "color ink" cartridge and then replace the cartridge that has the problem.

You may have to buy a new cartrige.

New color installed, printer says color cartridge missing


Make sure to follow manual instructions carefully and remove any tapes or other packaging materials from the cartridge. Try removing and replacing the cartridge. Make sure to install the color cartridge in the proper slot. Use the "Help" feature in your printer software for more details.

Missing black ink cartridge


Unplug the printer from the wall. Also remove the power brick for 60 seconds. This will reset any error messages you get from the printer. Plug everything back in and power on the printer. Take out the Dell black cartridge and reseat it. Put it back in and do the same for the color cartridge. When you close the printer it should try to print an alignment page.

Dell A960 cartridge problem


Does the black cartridge print? If not did you take the tape off of it? Error 50 is a generalized error reading relating to a number of cartridge problems. If the color cartridge is empty, it may be theproblem although I have not found this to be true on Dell printers. If you remove the color cartridge and reinstall it the reading will indicate its full (even though it isn't. This may solve the problem.

New cartridge


Clean the copper contacts of the cart and reset back in the printer and if your getting the same error message please replace the cart with another cart .......
