Question about Sony KV-32S42 32" TV
I have sony nicam tv - unsure of model, as receieved from a friend without remote or manual. recently bought dvd recorder and was attempting to set up the recorder remote to control the tv. followed instructions and held down power button whilse pressing the code number 8. however, then accidentally pressed 9. the tv went into standby mode, and i cant get it to turn back on. have tried different code combinations on remote and unplugging the tv, but still nothing. how can i get the tv out of standby mode? im not bothered wheter the dvd recorder remote works with the tv or not, but at the moment, the tv is useless.
I believe these Sony TV's have a built in obsolesence and Sony does not care about fixing them. I don't think a 7-year old TV is an "old model". Who can afford to by an expensive TV every 7 years. Shame on Sony.

If you can not turn on TV set with the power button on the TV its not a standby problem as this would by pass the standby. Theres most likly, on a set of this age, top have a poiwer regulator problem and is going to need a trained tech to assist you in this repair.
