Question about MSI TV Anywhere Master Video Capture

Open Question

I can't capture video files

After working properly for about 2 minutes, everything just shuts down, the computer starts restarting and I have to start again. Except, off course, that all the attempts are futile, because nothing ever gets done. The same card works fine with the other computer. I don't know why it doesn't work on this one when it fullfills the requirements. Hopeless, Milica

How do you make it work in windows7

I found this on a forum....I hope it helps!

This review is from: VHS To DVD 4.0 Deluxe [OLD VERSION] (CD-ROM)
I needed a way to connect my PS3 to my PC so I can take some screenshots and I only had 2 days to do this so I searched Amazon for VHS to DVD's and this was the one the best rated products. Next I went to Honestech to make sure Honestech VHS to DVD 4.0 Deluxe was compatible with Windows 7, and it was. So I rushed down to my local Fry's Electronics to pick one up, price was about the same so no problem there.

Once everything was installed hardware/software/drivers, I ran the Honestech software and after a few minutes of running my PC just locks up. So I rebooted and tried again, but again my PC locked up, now I am confused since they said it was Windows 7 compatible and I did get the latest software from Honestech site. I first thought it was my PC but after some testing I did discover that it was Honestech software that was locking up my PC.

OK so here is what I did to make it all work, forget the Honestech software you don't need it. Go to Honestech site and get the drivers for "HT VIDBOX NW03" this is what comes with the Honestech VHS to DVD 4.0 Deluxe. Download and install the drivers and restart, go into Device Manager and make sure you are not getting any device conflict and that everything is installed right. On Windows 7 the only thing I saw that Windows 7 didn't have drivers for was the audio, so installing these drivers fixed that problem. Now Google Virtualdub, it's a free video editing tool, Open Virtualdub go to File and select Capture AVI. Now under Device go select your USB2.0 VIDBOX NW03 (DirectShow), you should now see video coming from your HT VIDBOX NW03 go to File and select Set Capture File, enter the file name you want your video file to be and where you want to save it and hit save. Now go to Capture and hit Capture Video to start recording, and it Capture Video again to stop recording, that's it you are done.

Does your PC recognise the fact that you've connected your camera?

Try uninstalling Capture NX2 and then reinstalling, if you still have the Installation CDs.

Dear Expert, My Asus netbook 1005px has got a bad problem. last night when i wanted to turn on my device, suddenly it went to recovery page and said back up your data and recover. i restarted and again...

Your netbook is experiencing an operating system corruption that's why it's asking you to back up the files. Prepare a USB flash drive to do that. Save all your important files. And restart the computer and when it's restarting, tap F8 to restore the computer to the factory settings. This process will erase all the files that you have added to your computer but it will fix the corruption on it. However, there's nothing to worry about it if you have saved all your important files in a USB flash drive.

Thank you for trusting

My DVC 100 will capture video but will not capture sound everything is setup correctly

Welcome to fixya,
I understand that you have a problem with regards to your Dazzle DVC 100 and the problem you encounter is regarding to the sound. Is this no sound, or garbage sound? If no sound did you connect the audio cable properly? Could you please check your device manager.

Click on Start>Control panel>system>hardware>device manager>sound and video games controller> right click on video capture device uninstall it.
Right click on dazzle audio device uninstall it also. Restart your computer. After restarting let your computer detect and install the driver device. Open your IDVDR and try it again.

Recording stops within 10 minutes

Hi G-DyBiec

If the video capture automatically stops capturing at approximately 18 minutes (17 minutes and 55 seconds), then most likely the drive that is being capture to, is formated using Microsoft's FAT32 file system. Microsoft's FAT32 file system has a maxium file size of 4 GigaBytes (4 GB), which equates to a DV video clip of nearly 18 minutes. (18 minutes = 1080 seconds, @ a data rate of 3.6 MB/sec is approximately 4GB). So for hard drives that are formatted using FAT32, this behavior is normal. This is not a limitation of Studio..

To see what file system your hard drive uses do the following:

1. Right click on the Start button and choose Explore
2. Under My Computer, locate and highlight the drive you are capturing to
3. Right click and select Properites
4. On the General tab, towards the top, it will say "File System". It will be listed as either FAT32 or NTFS.

There are a few solutions if your drives are formatted using FAT32:
  1. Convert your FAT32 hard drive to NTFS *
  2. If you can copy any important data from this drive to other drives, it may be faster to re-format the FAT32 drive using the NTFS file system. **
  3. You can do multiple 18 minute captures and string them together in the Edit mode of Studio.
    • Since the first 18 minutes is already captured, rewind the camcorder or VCR to 5 - 10 seconds before the initial capture stopped (which can be edited out later in Studio).
    • Start a new capture to a new file name.
    • Repeat this process until all the desired video is captured from the tape.
    • After all the files have been captured, go to Edit and assemble the captured files from the Album to the timeline in the order you desire.
This is a manual method to workaround Microsoft's FAT32 file system and if this is too time intensive for your needs, then steps 1 and 2 above may be more suitable and should be considered.
* Note: If you need assistance with step 1 above, go to the Microsoft web site at and search on "convert FAT32 to NTFS".
** Note: If you need assistance with step 2 above, go to the Microsoft web site at and search on "how to format a drive in XP".

NOTE: Microsoft's NTFS file system is only supported on Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows Vista. NTFS support a file size of 4 TB (terra bytes), which is larger than any current consumer hard drive capacity, so if NTFS is used, the capture file size will only be limited by the size of the hard drive.
