My new laptop came with Microsoft office. is PowerPoint included or only word and excel? and if it is how do I install it? only Microsoft word and excel are what is on it right now. I thought it came with...

Depending on the version of Office that came with your computer you may not have power point. If it's not included then you will need to purchase it before it can be installed. A free alternative to the entire Office line is openoffice.org simply type in www.openoffice.org and download their latest edition. It has a powerpoint type program that is compatible (and should be able to output as PP file types) with PowerPoint. I hope this helps and thank you.

I want to install microsoft power point to my computer

Hi rogelicancic,
MS Powerpoint is not a free software. If your dealer didn't give it to you as a package when you installed windows, I'm afraid you'll have to buy it. Otherwise you can try the open source alternative, OpenOffice (http://www.openoffice.org/) which provides all the features of PowerPoint.

You will need to purchase microsoft power point then... it is not included with Windows Vista. If you want something similiar, for free, check out openoffice.org and you can download open office.

Microsoft powerpoint

Hi there,

Microsoft PowerPoint is a presentation program developed by Microsoft. It is part of the Microsoft Office system, and runs on Microsoft Windows and the Mac OS computer operating systems. The Windows version can run on the Linux operating system, under the Wine compatibility layer.

PowerPoint is widely used by business people, educators, students, and trainers and is among the most prevalent forms of persuasive technology. Beginning with Microsoft Office 2003, Microsoft revised the branding to emphasize PowerPoint's place within the office suite, calling it Microsoft Office PowerPoint instead of just Microsoft PowerPoint. The current versions are Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2007 for Windows and 2008 for Mac.

How to download microsoft powerpoint on windows vista

sounds like soemthing has broken the file association with the files you are trying to open in explorer.
First of all, make sure it IS a powerpoint file you are trying to open.
second of all, there is a method in which you can try to recreate the file association:
1.) right click on the file you are trying to open and choose Open With -> Choose program
2.) if PowerPoint Viewer is in the list, click on it, make sure "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file" is enabled, then press OK. the program will open and read the file. exit out of it and open the file again to test to see if this works.
If it isn;t on the "programs" list of the Open With Menu, you will have to find it. Click on "Browse", search for the program, select "open", make sure "always use the seelcted program" is checked off, and press OK. close the application thats starts and run again to test.
Hope this helps, alsthough this was posted a far ways back.
