The power button keeps blinking and when I check the lexmark solutions.. it says my printer is offline but everything is connected properly and I downloaded the updated driver for Vista. What can I do to fix this problem?

Normally, a blinking power button means your PC or a Printer is in Standby mode. To wake a computer up you press the power button again. With a printer you normally press the Color button.

Does this make sense to you?

Hi-

You can check under printers if you go to control panel, check for the status of your printer. make sure it is online and there are no pending jobs on the queue.

Hope this helps

My printer is offline. I have an HP deskjet 3930. I have tried unplugging, disconnecting, turning both printer & comp. off. The green light just keeps blinking. I've cleared all printing.

The green lights blink during the starting phase of the printer. If it doesn't stops blinking then the starting process never finishes, which means that the processor of the printer or the firmware circuit have failed. The only way to replace those is to replace the entire mainboard, and that would cost more than a new printer altogether.
This printer is dead, time for a new one.

The fan keeps running but nothing powers on

First check all your cords, to be sure that everything is connected properly. If all checks out, you may need to check you on/off button to be sure that it has not went out.

Our hp color laserjet printer is not printing... all the ink cartridges are new and inserted correctly... we have no idea what's wrong

There can be a number of things that are wrong so bear with me as I list some suggestions or possible solutions.

Always, ensure that your cables are securely connected between the PC/Printer and your AC Power cord is securely plugged into the outlet as well as the back of the printer. Additionally, make sure that the printer isn't indicating an internal problem such as low toner, paper jam or some error code on it's display. If everything on the printer appears to be normal, proceed to the next paragraph, If there are any error codes or messages on your printers display, you'll need to look those up to clear those issues before proceeding.

Open your print queue in your computer, (Control Panel > Printers> HP Color Laser or name of your printer) verify that your printer is seen as the "Default" printer and that it isn't currently selected to work "Offline".

If it shows that it is the "Default" printer, and it is NOT selected to "work offline", then let's try the next step. If for some reason it isn't the "Default" printer, you can select it to be so. If for some reason it shows that it is "Offline" uncheck that selection.

Under your printer "Properties" (right click on your printer, bottom selection on the drop down menu) you will have a "Self Test" button. Click this button (only once), observe your printer and see if it prints a test page.

If your printer shows no error messages, all cables are secured (always double check), your printer doesn't show it is offline in the printers queue, it properly prints the test page then at this point it should be working correctly.

If the steps I have mentioned above don't work, please provide more detail as to the printer model, any changes that you have recently made (software installed, cartridges changed, etc.) and we will find you a solution.

Syncmaster 932Gw stays in standby

Its possible that the cable from the laptop to the monitor is damaged. I would #1 make sure that the connection into the pc and into the monitor are both snug, if they are just slightly off it will keep the monitor from powering on. If they are snug, try another cable (if you have one) or hook the monitor to another pc (possibly your laptop, if it has a video out). Let me know if that solves the problem.

Install its driver. Or in printing que set the lexmark 2600 as the printer to be use. Then test print. Check its data cable.

My Lexmark x4550 all-in-one printer wont print anymore. It worked for a short time but now it doesnt print.I keep getting the error message communication problem, the printer cannot communicate with the...

You need to reconfigure the port. Go to the printer icon in "Control Panel" and open "Printers."

You will see that your printer is "Offline."

Rt Click on the printer and select "Properties." Click on the "Ports" Tab, highlight your printer by clicking on it and then select "Configure Port." This will open a new window where you then click on "Configure." In the next window choose DHCP (Radio Button) and wait until finished.

Remember back where you first started, Rt click your printer again and choose "Use Printer online." When the process is finished close all windows and you will be printing.

This also works with many of the Dell Photo printers as they are made by Lexmark. Unfortunately you may find that if you turn your computer off it may go "offline" again and you will have to do this process all over again. Good Luck.
