Graphcis card wont work

You have received some wrong information.
This motherboard has a PCI-e x16 slot(ver1.0), two PCI-X 66MHz, and two PCI 33MHZ slots..
The video card must go in the PCI-e x16 slot.
The x8 lanes are hardwired from the Tumwater chipset to the BCM5721 LAN chip, and are not accessible for use.
There is no x8 lane slot on this motherboard.

Asus p5q deluxe not detecting lsi megaraid

Hello i suggest you download a manual from here:

http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Intel_Socket_775/P5Q_Deluxe/#download

The manual can be found by selecting the windows system.
Click global for download.

Any files has to be unziped before use.

My guees is that the screen card or other pci-e
card has a defect and must be renewed.
One of your harddrives could also have a fault.
Try to boot with only one drive.

The power supply could have a fault also.

Please install any missing drivers.

A bios upgrade can sometimes solve this.

Good luck

What kind of graphic cards work with Pvm900m

http://www.mercury-pc.com/product-detail.php?link=p-mainboards&subtitle=Mainboard&productid=748

Specifications > Expansion Slots > PCI Express x16

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PCI_Express

PCI EXPRESS 2.0

"PCIe 2.0 motherboard slots are fully backward compatible with PCIe v1.x cards. PCIe 2.0 cards are also generally backward compatible with PCIe 1.x motherboards, using the available bandwidth of PCI Express 1.1. Overall, graphic cards or motherboards designed for v2.0 will work with the other being v1.1 or v1.0a."

-> PCIe 2.0 graphics cards are ALSO -> Backward Compatible <- with PCIe 1.0, or 1.1 motherboards.......

-> Using the available bandwidth of PCI Express 1.1

[ PCI Express 2.0 = 500MegaByte per Second, per lane data rate.
PCI Express 1.0 and 1.1 = 250MB/s, per lane data rate.

PCI Express 2.0 = 5.0GigaByte per Second transfer rate
PCI Express 1.0 and 1.1 = 2.5GB/s transfer rate

Will you notice? NO

Hi ,i just wanted to know if the intel g41rq motherboard is compatible with the gts250 nvidia graphic card? since the system is kicking me out from most of the games such as call of duty etc...

Yes, it will work, just at the rated speed of the PCI-e 16x slot.
And as long as you have a power supply capable of using the card.

Capacity Per lane:
PCIe v1.x (your motherboard ): 250 MB/s
PCIe v2.x:(nvidia gts250 card): 500 MB/s

And keep in mind:
- the onboard graphic card will be disabled when installing a pcie card.
- the onboard cared uses a vga connector and gtx250 uses dvi

How can i tell the difference between pci slots and pcie slots

The Peripheral Component Interconnect or more commonly known as PCI is a standard for connecting a lot of devices inside your computer to extend its capabilities. Devices like sound cards, modems, NIC, TV Tuners, and some video cards have at some point or another have used the PCI port.
PCI express ( PCI-E ) is a much improved version in terms of speed. PCIe uses a serial interface instead of the old parallel interface used by PCI. It also utilizes individual buses for each of the devices connected to it instead of a shared one like what PCI uses. The difference in speed is quite huge when comparing the standard PCI slot which runs at 133MB/s to a 16 slot PCIe that can send or receive up to 16GB/s.

The most common use for PCIe nowadays is with graphics cards which benefits hugely from the huge bandwidth provided by the interface.
1. PCIe is much faster compared to PCI.
2. PCIe uses a serial interface while PCI uses a parallel interface.
3. PCIe speed is classified into lanes, each capable of delivering up to 1GB/s data transfer.
4. PCI slots are standardized while PCIe slots vary depending on the number of lanes the slot is intended for.
5. Despite PCIe superiority, most manufacturers still use the PCI standard for their devices.

Unlike PCI slots which are the same size for all devices, PCIe slots can differ depending on which form factor it accepts. The longest would be the 16 lane slot and understandably, the shortest is for the x1 devices.

I hope this much information is enough for you to understand the difference between both of them. If you need any more help let me know.. !

Board comes on but it don't boot yet everything else seems to be working fine, why won't it boot?

Ensure you have hardisk and OS installed, take off any CD on CD Drive. If still won't work, try to re-seating the memory card and graphic card (if you use one in slot).
Check the Power and Data cable connection onto hardisk.

PCI-E recognition issue on intial start up ASUS P5GC-MX/1333

To solve this problem you have to do the following things in the series.

first remove all the extra cards and then connect to the onboard vga connector. then start the sys and go to bios settings. if you know the advanced adjustments then
correct them as follows. otherwise just select load optimized settings.

first go to the video card selection in advanced
and then set the setting to pci/pciinternal or pciint/pci ext

then set the pallette snooping to yes.
shutdown system

place graphics card and then donot change any setting. then you'll get the display.

i have the same motherboard and i also faced this once. it is not a problem it is just misconfiguration.

as for the pcie slot you need to enter the startup setup and choose the graphics card that your computer uses which is mainly the "integrated periferals" menu, then choose that the pcie card is your primary graphice card or simply disable your older card.

Asus A8N sli Premium - sli problems

I went through your bios manual three times & did not come across a setting that gives you the option as you listed above.
What I did come across & triple checked your Manual Pg. 2-28 section 14. Asus EZ selector card connector (144-pin SLI_CON.
When using two PCIE SLI cards make sure the card is seated correctly & set for Dual Video Cards. (extreamly important).
Pg. 4-34, section 4.4.9 SLI mode Recommend kepping to Auto. Than the Bios detects the setting of theSLI selector card.
Refering to the sentance above the manual recommends all settings be set to Auto. Your Bios will do the rest. If for unknown reason you no longer have your manual you can download it from Asus. You'll need to fill in the 3 windows under, Please Select the Product.
