Question about Samsung Blackjack SGH-I607 Smartphone

2 Answers

Screwed Ok I got my blackjack 2 today from at&t. Receives calls but you cannot hear anything. Loudspeaker works fine, ear speaker is not. Got a return label on the way but im still out my new phone and if at&t send me another they would charge me again till they got the other phone back. So I got a week or so to decide if I want to try and find a simple solution or send it back and start search for new phone all over again. SOS

Sometimes, the ear speaker does work, but most of the time I have to put the calls on speakerphone.

Call 1 800 801 1101 it is AT&T's warranty handset assistance line. They will troubleshoot with you and then of they cannot fix it they will express ship you out another phone and then put your broken one in the box and ship it back for free. If you bought the phone from att! I have done this numerous times!

I know this sounds stupid, but the only thing i can think of is trying to increase the receiver volume. its on the top left side of the phone right above the charger jack. put it all the way up

When i recieve or make a call i can not hear anything?

1. Take the battery out to reset/reboot.
2. Once it powers up, plug a wired headset into it.
If you can hear through the headset fine -but not thru the ear speaker, well then its the ear speaker that has gone bad. (Hardware problem.. if its less than a year old or u have cell phone insurance, call your cell company and see if they will replace that under warranty)
You could also try speakerphone and see if that works.. if the ear speaker goes out - maybe the loud speaker will still work.

Can't hear when i call them or they call me + they can't hear me

It is most likely a broken speaker. My business fixes stuff like this. If that is all that is broken, it will be $55 for parts + labor and take about 5-7 business days to get back into your hands.

My Blackjack i607 dials a number but I don't hear anything

Are you using a bluetooth? This will prevent the earpiece from being used but will allow the speakerphone to function properly.

I can't hear out of my handset for voice calls. PPlcan hear me fine but it sounds like they are whispering. I was having no problems until tonight. Speaker phone is working fine. What can I do to fix it?

You need to open up your phone and clean both the actual ear speaker and the two small pin holes on the cover with 91% or higher alcohol. If that doesn't solve the problem then need to replace your ear speaker.

Black Jack II volume

If your phone has gotten wet, thats the instant problem.

Extreme moisture may even ruin the microphone.
High winds as well.

Stupid to ask, but if you've recently blown into the speaker, that's not necessarily good for it.
