SOURCE: how do youfind a serial number on a yamaha 125 dirt bike 2004

Should be stamped on the neck of your motorcycle or on the left hand side lower rail. Look on the neck, right side, under the dirt.

Where is the neck? It is the place where the front wheel assembly is fastened to the rest of the motorcycle.

If you've tested the ignition components and everything is good to go, the most likely candidate for causing intermitent fire is actually the spark plug cap.

First, just pull the cap off the plug and take a look inside to make sure the fitting is still clamping snuggly and squarely down on the plug. Now, holding the plug wire still, rotate the boot a full turn clockwise. Replace the boot and try it out. If this hasn't eliminated the issue, the little wires within the plug wire may be frayed and broken. To check this, pull the boot back off of the plug. Again, holding the plug wire still, rotate the boot COUNTERclockwise and unscrew it right off the end of the wire. Take a look in the end of the wire and check the condition of the little wires that should be in the center of the plug wire. If the don't look 100%, use some wirecutters and snip off about 1/4" of the plug wire. Replace the plug boot by insuring the screw tip of the boot enters exactly in the center. Give it a few turns clockwise-until it snugs up. Replace the boot onto the plug and you should be ready to go! I hope this helps! Good luck!
