Every now and then the door bell sticks in the on position. I can hear the bell dinging through glass. I disconnected the door bell connection and that didn’t work, the battery was drained by the next day. What can I do to get this fixed the cheapest way?
I had the same problem with my 01. My problem originates in the in the ignition switch. When the truck chimes (& the radio light stays on) after removing the key and opening the door, you know the circuit is still open, and this will drain the battery. I just have to tap the key slot on the column once or twice to close the circuit. My battery has been fine ever since I figured this out.

It sounds like you have a bad relay. If you know where the relay is or how to find it, you could fix/replace/disable the function. OR there could be a short circuit in your wiring because a brief overview of your owners manual, if you are the same as a 2004, indicates there are a few circuits that trigger the chime (i.e. door, lights, turn signal, safety belt). You could test for these with a circuit board safe probe, or a digital multimeter; or you can find the fuses related to each electronic circuit that triggers the chime and start by pulling those fuses to see if ends the chime. If any or all of this seems too crazy, I'm sorry to say but you will need to find someone who is good with troubleshooting electronics to help fix this. I'm not saying the dealer is your only option, but I would rather pay for somone who knows either the vehicle very well or is great with electronics. If you decide to bring this to someone, and you have to pay by the hour, I would pay more for a better technician opposed to paying less for a less qualified technician that will take longer to find/fix the issue. Just my 2 cents. Good Luck.
