    My Armada 500 starts to boot, Windows 2000 starts to load then the screen goes blue with a four line message:

    *** Hardware Malfunction

    Call your hardware vendor for support

    NMI: Parity Check / Memory Parity Error

    *** The system has halted ***

    It is an old laptop. Do you think it may have died?

    My laptop HP dv2699ea had been working fine for an year without any problems. But recently it started giving me an error message with a blue screen as follows :

    *** Hardware MalfunctionCall your hardware vendor for supportNMI: Parity Check/Memory Parity Error*** The system has halted ***

    Before the above error occurred to me, I got a blurred screen that was split into 6 or more smaller screens. I am able to login to Windows, but can barely see anything there as theere are 6 screens that it is split up into & everything is very blurred.

    Can anybody please tell me the cause & remedy for this.

    I've tried refitting the entire laptop(Opened, removed a RAM & tried again with the help of a Service Engineer) and it worked fine for an hour.
    But after that I got the blue screen again.

    The laptop is out of warranty & I'm afraid of the cost it might take to get it fixed.

    i am having problem with my laptop when i plug it into charger it goes hault screen goes blue and hardware malfunction error occurs

Same thing on my newish dell xps laptop. Did a lil googling, and found some similar answers. It usually happens after installing new hardware drivers, mostly nic cards (ethernet network, internet wi-fi). The most popular suggestion is to remove previously installed drivers and if possible find updated drivers and install those. Some suggest to go as far as installing ALL of your current drivers, but I don't think that is really necessary. You could probably just go back to your last working restore point (IF you have one) and work from there. Good luck and I hope this helps. DRUMMERGIRL

Not the laptop, no.
I would replace the memory in it first, this should not be expensive to do. The error relates to the memory, not the laptop.

Hardware Malfunction

Appears to be a memory problem. If you can get a bootable CD copy of memtest 86, set the bios to boot from the CD drive with this CD in, and the test will determine if the memory is good. Let it run for one complete pass, which will take awhile.

My laptop has crashed and gives the following message hardware malfunction call your hardware vendor for support NMI: parity check/memory parity error The system has halted

could be a defective Ram memory. or some bigger problem with the motherboard

increase ur virtual memory then for high resolution game u should install a graphics card , nvidia graphics card is the good quality card . After doing that plz check
