Hello,

On the bottom of your laptop is a label would you take note of the model number listed there as well as the PN too and text those back to me?

touch pad dont work sometimes - ba8c404.jpg

Then, include the Service Tag number if you have one. Thank you for taking the time to do this so I can address you problem correctly.

Thanks,
Worldvet

Left side of touchpad doesn't work

Hi Ricky,
Sometimes you can get these touch pads to work by placing your thumbs either side of the touch pad at the midway mark and pressing both thumbs down at the same time and then release.
For example, think of a clock face on your touch pad - place one thumb at the 8.45 position and the other thumb at 3.15 position. Press down both at same time, hold 2 seconds and release.
Hope this is helpful. Let us know. Good luck, Chris.

Disable touchpad

i dont see why you need to disable it ..they will work perfectly together and in case you need it sometimes you can use it ..to restore it back it may be hard for you ...but if you really want it ..just get to control panel ..select touch pad ..and look for disable ..Or best way is to click right on computer ..select properties ..and (hardware for xp ) ..and device manager ..In here look for the touch pad in the list ..and select it ..click right ..and disable ..

My touch pad works with a mouse, but when I tap my touch pad nothing happen's,thats when I lef click my mouse,it will move the icon, but wont tap on toanything

This has happened to me and it took me hours to figure it out. I hope yours is the same problem...
Make sure you dont have your touch pad set to off. On my ASUS It is F9 on my keyboard. the key shows an icon of the touch pad with a slash (/) through it. If you do not see this on your keyboard try looking in control panel and see if there is a setting in there. Good Luck. Please let me know if this worked.

I am facing problem with my touch pad. it has some indicator light. while am in work with touch pad, the indicator suddenly on nad the touch pad becomes locked. its reyally frusatration to me. dont...

The button to turn the touch pad on and off can be touchy. there is not a way to adjust that either other than going to a repair shop and have it replaced. That can be a little pricey, so one less expensive way to solve your problem would be to go purchase an external mouse like you would use on a normal desktop pc. They plug into a USB port and you can then turn off the on board touch pad and still have mouse to work with.

Laptop Touch Pad will not work

if you plug usb keyboard onto your laptop it will probably turn the touch pad off.
If no other keyboard is attached there is usually a switch to turn off the touch pad.
also if you attach a mouse this may disable the touchpad so you dont move the mouse pointer when you are typing

Touch pad driver.

Uninstall the driver from the device manager, then reboot. The machine will find the touch pad and reinstall the drive automatically. If this doesn't work, check the touch pad connection, they will sometimes work loose ar get a little dirt/corrosion build up. The connection is under the keyboard. At this point, if it's still not working, then it has failed and will need replaced.

Mouse

Try uninstalling the drivers for the mouse from the device manager, the do a hardware search, it will find the device and automatically reinstall the drivers. If this doesn't work, then the synaptic touch pad is shot and needs replaced.
