Hi- I have a Tosiba Satellite A135-S4527 laptop running Windows Vista. When I shut my system, it seems to take a long time for it to do so. Is this normal for Vista or is there anything I can tweak in order forit to shut down faster. Thanks in advance for you help.

If you truly believe the problem happened right after installing the new mouse, then you should start by uninstalling the software for it. Go to Control Panel -> Software -> Uninstall. If this fails, you can use the System Restore utility to rollback the Windows registry to a time before you first installed the new mouse software. Have you tried to unplug the mouse and not use it, atleast on the attempted shutdown process?
this could be because someone took the license key that was origionally installed on your computer, did you lent it out? The same product key can not be activated on 2 computers unless it has multiple licenses. I had this problem, but i simply called microsoft and they shut down the other product key and gave me a new one for free.
When you hit F12 or whatever F key to go to the boot drive menu, make sure the cd is in and that you select CD/DVD Drive and the dvd should prompt you to hit any key or will automatically start loading for the recovery. Just tell me if you need further assistance.
