The printer was working fine the previous day, and now today I have this alarm in and it wil not let me do anything. The cartridges are about 80% full and I have taken them all out and installed them again with no success. Are there any solutions out there for my problem, as they would be appreciated.

If that message comes, you have to try with another new cartridge. Just because it worked the previous day, doesn't mean it should work the following day. Once, when I refilled and used it, it worked and didn't work the following day. So try with a new cartridge and check the expiry date as well.
You should take it to the dealer, if you have the receipt and he will gladly change for a new one. It happened to me once!
You may need a new cartridge, that error says the ink cartridge is wrong or not installed properly. If it's a refilled cartridge it won't work, if it's a new canon cartridge, they warranty for 30 days from date of purchase.
hi! there,on your previuos catridge it work properly,have you ever change the brand or the model no, of your catridge,the printer can detected if the catridge is not suitable to printer,there is a circuit printer head on catridge,not all catridge are useful to printer try to check the brand and model no, printer exactly,check this on manuals and try to purchased the same brand of printer,if still not work take this to cannon srvice center,have a nice day thank,s
