You cannot do anything but to get a Windows cd and reinstall your os.

Simply get a cd, put it in the cd drive, put on the pc and press either f8 or escape or even f12 to get to the boot selection mode, then choose your cd drive and let it boot to the cd.

When the windows install comes up, choose your desired options and let it install, when it reboots let it boot to your hard drive and let it do it`s thing.

Any info it needs, provide it and soon you will have a new windows installation.

Error messgae trying to use system restore to get rid of program stopping my computer from starting get error mess age class not registered OX80040154 please close system restore and try again

Go back further in your system restore to an earlier date until normal operation is restored. If this still doesn't work, buy yourself a new hard drive. Put your operating system and programs you use on the new drive and copy file from your old drive mounted in the slave position to copy file from your old drive. Once you have done this, format your old drive and keep it for a spare. Your new drive will have none of the old problems any more. Be careful about the WEB sites you go to and use a quality anti-virus program to screen future problems.

Cannot restart my pc dell vostro3450

You must be having issues with your hard disk connection. Try fixing this tightly to the data cable and reboot ur system. If you get the same notice then you might have to format your hard drive and afterwards recover your files from it using a recovery software. Mind you, not all files may be recovered but you are sure to get some files back.

Hi, ive got a dell note book and all i want to do is reset it like if i where to just get it brand new. because its too slow and a pain in the ****

Hi ellisti...
Instead of doing a format first, try this:

Double left click on "Start">All Programs>Accessories>System Tools> System Restore...Pick a date when your computer was fast and running right.
This will restore your computer back to an earlier time when it was working good.

If it still doesn't work then you will Double left click on "My Computer"> right click on C drive (if that is your main drive) and then choose "Format"...this will wipe everything from the hard drive including the operating system, drivers, all files you have added, so make sure you save to an external hard drive all the files, pictures, etc you want to keep.
You will have to reload the operating system, and drivers to be back to like new operation.

Yes I have forgot my password on my toshiba Satellite L3550 and I cant do any thing on my laptop. I dont have a boot disk either, is there anything I can do to beable to use my computer again

  1. If the computer is running, shut it down -- by clicking Start, Shut Down, and again Shut Down.
  2. Press and hold the 0 (zero) key on your keyboard and then press the computers power switch. When the computer turns on, the Toshiba HDD Recovery Utility screen will appear, presenting three options:

Restore Original Factory Image (Recommended)
CAUTION:
Restoring a hard disk drive to its factory default state deletes all partitions on the hard disk drive and all data stored on those partitions. All of your files and information will be lost! Be sure to back up all important files first.
  1. Press 1 to restore your hard disk drive to its original factory default state. A confirmation message will appear, indicating that all data will be overwritten and lost during the restore process. Be sure to back up all important files before proceeding.
  2. Click Yes to begin the recovery. A message will appear once the operation is finished, indicating the HDD has been restored.
  3. Press any key to restart the computer.

Restore Partition C: of HDD without changing current partition size

CAUTION:
Restoring the C: drive to its factory default state formats your drive. Your information on the drive will be overwritten, and lost. Be sure to back up all important files first. If you have created other partitions (for example, a D: drive) those partitions and any information on them will not be affected and will remain intact.

To restore only the C: drive:
  1. Press 2 to restore only the "C:" drive (the letter C is traditionally used to designate the first volume on the hard disk drive) on your computer. A confirmation message will appear, indicating that all information on the drive will be lost during the recovery process. Be sure to back up all important files before proceeding.
  2. Click Yes to begin the recovery. A message will appear once the operation is finished, indicating that the HDD has been restored.
  3. Press any key to restart the computer.

Restore Image to C: Partition with user specified size
CAUTION:
Resizing and restoring your C: drive to its factory default state formats all partitions on the HDD (for example, if you created a D: drive, it will be deleted during the recovery process) your information will be overwritten, and lost. Be sure to back up all important files first.
To resize and restore your C: drive:
  1. Press 3 at the Toshiba HDD Recovery Utility screen. A confirmation message will appear, indicating that all partitions will be reformatted and all information will be lost during the recovery process. Be sure to back up all important files before proceeding.
  2. Click "Yes" to begin the recovery and to specify the size of the C: drive.
    • Press the Left/Right Arrow keys to increase/decrease the C: drive size by 1 GB increments.
    • Press the Up/Down Arrow keys to increase/decrease the C: drive size by 5 GB increments.

      NOTE:
The size of the C: drive will be displayed on the progress bar as you make your selections.
  3. Click "Enter" to begin the recovery. A message will appear once the operation is finished, indicating that the HDD has been restored.
  4. Press any key to restart the computer.

Need a boot disk form my ibm 2647 is there link to go to and copy to disk?

Place an empty floppy in the drive. Double click on My Computer and find the floppy drive. Right hand mouse click and select Format. When the Format menu is displayed, select Make System Disc from the list.
That will format your floppy and include the operation system startup files.
Hope that helps.

I cant start may laptop after formatting c-drive

If you took the hdd out and format it ..it will need to reinstall the operation system ..If you tried to install the operation system ..but now it says there is no operation system ..you need to reinstall it ..Anyway ..if it starts ..but not boot to windows..Just reinstall the operation system using a boo-table cd ..with the OS ..or the recovery partition on it ..by pressing the F12 ..and choose recovery partition ..(boot from ) if it has one ..it may be damaged when you tried to format ...
Remember to format means erase and form the memory units again ..and not installing ..reinstalling is another issue ..and when you do it ..it gives you the possibility to completely format a partition ..including C in our case..so that you are sure you end up with a clean Operation system ..

I Have Windows Server on my Toshiba Laptop....

If it came with this operation system ..the chances are that the recovery partition on it ..be the same ..but I'm not that sure..anyway ..will be an operation system and you will adapt ..
the idea to run a server os on laptop is strange ..but not important ..
First to do ..is to press F11 ..and see if you have a recovery resource (partition ) ..already on your hard drive ..In this case just choose a reinstall of the operation system ..and will load it again with all the drivers and so ..Your files from C drive will be lost ..cause it is formatting the C drive during the operation ..
If you want the files..(i repeat only ones on C drive will be lost ..this includes desktop ..my documents ..and program files ..all other drives will be intact )
you will need a windows server operation system and try to boot from disk and choose to repair ..or reinstall but not deleting the files..or ..reinstall other operation system ..and choose the same partition for it ..(C drive ) ..but choose to not format it ..and keep the files..Once ready ..you get in ...save all files you may need ..and install it again clean with the formatting of the drive so that you have a fresh start ..
I repeat ..you need a boot-able disk with the operation system for to do that ..It may be windows server ..or other windows..but you have to choose with care ..the actions ..
If you need some data from it ..and you do not want to take risks ..I suggest to use another computer ..and connect the hard disk on it ..(it may not be a laptop ..just buy an adapter and connect it either with a usb or so . for laptop hard disks ..there are some rack connectors available ..just for to do that ..just ask for them to the computer store..and mention what you want to do ..
Once connected you may retrieve the files and after that run a clean install for the operation system or run the recovery partition if you have on e..
let me know what you've managed to do and I will see from there..

Re toshiba laptop 5000

If you have the proper Recovery disk in machine, Reboot system. It should prompt you if you would like to reformat drive. And will warn you that all info on drive will be lost. If you have back up of everything you want to keep just answer yes. System may take a while but it will reformat hard drive and install all original system files and programs.
