First try to take out the batteries out of the remote and see if its activatibng the TV set. if its not then there are probably bad micro switches in the front of the set, or the microprocessor could be going bad, or the remote sensor is acting up

Tv shuts off by itself

possible dirty switch or could be that the timer is set for sleep or a specific time. Switch can be cleaned with contct cleaner. Just pull the case back off and unclip the switch panel. good luck, otherwise go through the setup menu and make sure the sleep timer or auto off isn't causing the problem.

Turns off and on by itself

You have bad switches behind the push buttons on the front panel. RCA had a problem with there switches sticking internally. Change them all at one time to avoid later problems.

the buttons switches are leaking more than likely this a comon problem in a lot of tvs they start leaking and send a voltage signal to the ics and tv will start doing funny things. Anyway need to replace these switches probley about six of them in all they are mounted on a board behind where you push the power button. Should replace all just to be on the safe side.

It's probably something wrong inside, so if you don't want to open it you will probably have to send it in for repair. Since it's only two years old, might you still have waranty on it? Try to contact the dealer to find out. If not, I fixed a similar problem on my Sony TV by opening it up, and adjusting the knobs inside. I adjusted *one at the time*, and returned it to its starting position if it didn't seem to have any effect. I finally found one that caused my TV to stay on. If you open it, be very carefull. There are components that can shock you *even if the TV is off and disconnected!* So don't touch any metal with your fingers. While you're in there, clean out any dust to reduce risk of fire later.

Have tried checking if the Power Plug is fitting tightly in the Power socket? Could be that it is loose?
