My h17 only holds a charge for 2 hours. can the battery be replaced

Unfortunately, the Motorola H17 does not have a user replaceable battery. The battery is supposed to last the life of the product and can only be removed by breaking the headset. If the battery fails (leaks or will not charge beyond 80%) while the headset is under warranty (1 year from initial purchase), then Motorola will replace the H17.

See page 2 (page 4 of the PDF) of the manual for the battery removal information. See page 26-27 (pages 28-29) for the warranty information. I found a PDF of the H17 manual here: .

I hope this helps.

Why do you think you need to replace the battery? A common sign that your Motorola Bluetooth headset needs a new battery is when you repeatedly hear five quick high tones in successive, one-minute intervals. Another symptom of a low or dead battery is when you try to scroll to Power and your headset doesn't come on. The Motorola H500 headset has a long battery life, but the battery eventually will go bad. Unfortunately, the battery is integrated as part of the headset's circuitry and should not be replaced by its user. Motorola strongly advises against trying to change the battery. Attempting to replace the battery voids the headset's warranty. By sending the headset to Motorola for repair, you can have a new battery installed without the risk of damage to your equipment.
But you can try the following at your own risk:
Locate the battery door at the rear of the headset and open it.
Remove the old battery. Install a new battery to match the plus and minus illustrations on the battery compartment. Shut the battery door back in place.
Select "Menu" on your phone. Select "Settings."
Select "Connection," "Bluetooth Link," and "Setup."
Select "Power." Select "Change."
Select "On," and then press "Select."
Press the "Call" button and hold it down. Release it when the LED light blinks.

Blackberry 9720 suddenly went dead wont charge

Hi Michelle. I have the same phone and it happened to me a few times. On most phones the battery swells up when it reaches it's charging life end. In the 9720 the battery can still LOOK okay even though it might have reached its life-span. I eventually purchased a new battery, and wholaa, problem solved. A piece of additional advice is: Do not chat with you phone on the charger. Unplug the charger when battery is fully charged: We tend to charge the phone anytime and every time before we go to work or somewhere - you have to let the battery run flat on its own at least once a month, then start a fresh charge from fully flat to fully charged. This will prolong battery life. I a new battery does not solve the problem, have the charging pin checked out. Alternately if you know someone that has the same handset as you, ask them to stick your battery into their handset and visa versa. Hope this info help :)

Battery will not hold a charge

Sadly phone batteries don't have the long life they used too. There isn't a lot you can do besides purchase a new battery. Samsung only covers the battery for one year from date of purchase, so you might be able to get a replacement if you have had it for less than a year. Otherwise, eBay is your friend. You can extend the life of the battery by changing some habits of how you use the device.
- Let the battery run completely down about (dead phone) about once a month. This helps ensure a longer life.
- Try to avoid using car chargers. The power provided isn't always the most stable and can greatly shorten the life of your battery.
Once you get a new battery, don't charge it right away. Let it run down the first time to empty before first time charge. That will ensure a long, healthy battery life.

Using it on my Mitel 5330 IP phone. Worked for a long time then started cutting out. Replaced batteries in Vista M22 amplifier even bought a new headset still have same problem

It sounds like you have a short in the wiring. Mitel has their own cordless headset for the 5330 model phone... it is awesome in every way. Battery life, range, clarity, etc.

Plantronics sells a pice of **** what works only a short time. For example any hearing aid you by you can replace the battery but here is build that way for one reason.... they want you to by a new one and create more waste. Soluition: Do not by that brand!

Motorola V9m phone less than one month old -- using wired headset which plugs in to same place as charger. When the headset is plugged in, I cannot receive incoming calls. Is this normal? Also, battery...

No thats not normal, you should be able to receave calls and answer them from the headset if it has buttons.

can you try another headset?

Also about your battery, that sound about normal, you should try a bigger capasity battery on it if available.

I have a Plantronics with a headset, but the battery does not last a day. 1- is there a phone with a larger storage compacity? Sleeples in Toronto. Thank you

if the battery is to the headset then most likley the device is faulty, unless you talk alot. on the headset package it displays the amount of talk time. if you do not have the package, call radio shack, and give them the headset modle # and they could tell you the talk time(i say radio shak because it is a small store, so the associats have knowledge of most store items).

if it is your phone battery, get a new one, let it charge fully, LET THIS NEW BATTERY DRAIN COMPLETELY UNTILL THE PHONE CUTS OFF BY ITSELF, after this, let it charge fully again and its ready for use. (this gives the battery maximum life).
