    ... P.S.: cooktop less than 2 years old. Worked great last night. Nothing this morning...

    Please help....

    but it has worked fine for last 2 years.. almost 2 years (my home was built new for me.. all new appliances) anyway it worked fine even last night. then this morning... poof... nothing... It is a built in oven separate from cooktop. I can lift the cooktop from the counter (granite) and look under it.... so i know i have proper wiring due to inspection when i moved into home... what could go wrong?

Youl have to pukk out the unit and check the connection/installaiton. youll need to determine if you have proper voltage going to machine. ther if no fuse on the machine, more than like a power supply issue

    your power supply is on a 220-240 volt. its possilbe one of the power legs is no longer live or the connection has burnt off.you check breaker(did you physically turn off the "double breaker" and then flip back on possible it "half tripped" on you causing power issue

My left front burner was turned off for almost half hour but remained hot. the hot surface light was still lit. I had to throw my main breaker to turn it off. What could be my problem

Sounds like the thermostat on that burner gas gone. When you switched the breaker back on, did the burner get warm after being cold? If so, you need a new controller. They are easy to change if you can get to the back of the unit. Make sure you turn off the breaker and physically remove the plug.

Front left burner will not heat up, all the rest are working fine

You either have a bad element or infinite switch. If you are handy you can do a few checks to determine which part is needed or if both parts are needed. On a failed element most of the time you can see a burn/break in the coil windings. You can check for continuity. On the infinite switch you can do a continuity check as well. If you are unsure of the repair I recommend change out both. The parts are affordable and you will have your cooktop up and running sooner.

Whirlpool Flat cooktop burner not heating up

Try cleaning the knobs. I did the same thing you did (turning the circuit breaker off but that did not solve the problem.

My wife just tried turning the knobs and that seemed to work. It appears that one of the knobs may have been so sticky that the though it's in the OFF position it thinks it's still ON.

RCC3024 cooktop one burner wont heat

Hi again,

It would seem you posted anew.

For some reason I could not locate related literature for a RCC3024LD01,although there are for LB01, LQ01 and a LT01. Most of the components inthese models could be checked with the use of a continuity tester(multitester VOM/DVM). The idea is to check for continuity of eachcomponent. If we are to assume that the heating element as a likelysuspect, it is a matter of checking if the coil is continuous, that isno break anywhere in between. The test prods of the continuity testerwould be applied to the two (2) terminals of the heating element andthe tester should deflect/display how much is the resistance. Normalreading shouold be pretty low while no deflection/reading indicates anopen coil and therefore would require replacement.

These additional documents may be of help to you:
  1. exploded parts diagram;
  2. parts list.
Cheers.

Whirlpool electric Cooktop's one burner not heating

Hi,

Initially, it could either be:
  • open heating element (most likely);
  • open temperature limiter (least likely);
  • faulty/loose connection/wiring (a possibility).
Please confirm that it is a Whirlpool RCC3024 Electric Cooktop.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.
