I have a possible answer---are you getting noise lines across the screen for the first several minutes that would eventually clear up and give a picture or something else?

I've had this problem with my projection TV recently. I would say your lens/lamp is to blame. It might be time to change it, depends on the last time it was changed, most of the time, the TV will tell you that it needs to be changed, but not always. I think your best bet is the TV lamp.

LCD rear projection takes a long time to warm up

If you are talking about the picture, and it takes a long time to fade in to full brightness, then the LAMP needs to be replaced. Call the Maufacter or repair shop to get one.

yes.. i repair about 2 of these a month here at the shop. Toshiba has issued a service bulliteen concerning these. What the problem is a cuircit board called the "hypermodule". THere are 11 very very small surface mounted capacitors that have to be replace. Ideally the module can be replaced... more expensive but not by much considering labor is intensive on the capcitors .. but here the trouble... the board is not availble. we charge about 450 for this repair.. the boards not easy to remove the u have to be an expert solder to get these cap off an on.. i personally damaged a couple boards and like i said. boards not availble ...here is a picture of the board the caps are the small circular components. willie@fordtv.com

Sound but ni picture

I dont think that TV has a bulb it uses CRT's

You cant get CRT's any more. Sounds like the capacitors in the power supply are week and are takign time to charge thats why it takes a while to get a picture.

Not worth fixing

Toshiba 42 inch rear projection TV

You likely have a bad hyper board.  As time goes on the lenght of time it takes to get a clear picture will increase and eventually the picture will never clear up untill the part is either repaired or replaced.
