Question about PC Desktops
Ok so this is a laptop, not a desktop.
If you can see the screen just a little bit and it is very dim, I'm sorry but your backlight most have gone out and will have to be replaced - Roughly $150 repair.
If it is completely black - I suggest blowing out all vents, try to get rid of all the cat hair and dust. I would then remove all power to the laptop, remove the AC adapter and battery. Let the laptop sit for 10 mins. This resets most laptops. While all power is removed, remove the RAM and re-seat the RAM. I hope this helps.
