I've had my Compaq Presario 2200 notebook for almost 4 years and the battery's lifespan (off AC power) has gradually dwindled to the point where it won't even stay charged as soon as I turn it on. Not only that, but when I plug in an AC adapter/charger, it won't even seem to charge up. I have to struggle with the connection to just get the power light to come on, and when it does it only blinks yellow/orange for about 6-7 seconds. I can then turn it on again, but it dies right away. I've tried multiple AC adapers and the problem has been ongoing with all of them.
I'm hoping that the fix is something as cheap and easy as just replacing the battery, but in my experience it's always something more -- hopefully non-motherboard related. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
