Check the fuek lines for hole and leaks, check the fuel filter and clean if necessary. remove the carbuerator and clean with carb cleaner sray (available at any local auto parts store) and compressed air. make sure you get inside the small fuel rail holes. if that doesn't work have the carb repaired at a service center or replaced.

Doesn't get enough fuel to run without full choke

The choke doesn't give it more fuel.! It gives it less air. But your right that its not getting enough fuel. Check the fuel lines from the fuel filter to the carb. Make sure it has good compression as its the vacuum created by the downward stroke of the piston that draws the fuel/air mix in. Check and clean the carb, replace any fatigued diaphragms and gaskets in the carb.

Engine won't run unless choke is partially closed.

when the choke is partially closed there is extra vacuum created in the venturi of the carby that assists to help pull the fuel through the main jet and the idle circuit
it indicates that the main jet circuit still has a blockage or there is insufficient fuel getting to the carby ( vent problem)
it could be from a gasket or diaphragm blocking a vacuum port or the fibre block under the carby incorrectly fitted

Ski-doo won't stay running or idle

sounds like it could be the air to fuel ratio. if it only want to run with the choke on. I would say to make sure all your nuts and bolts are tight and that you check the gaskets in between the carb and the motor. another thing you could do is get a can of starting fluid and spray it around the carb while the motor is running (do not spray it in the carb)if the idle changes or if it dies you need to replace gaskets.

Just replaced the carb, fuel lines, filter and gasket that goes between the carb and cylinder wall. All brand new parts. I believe lines are connected correctly. Now the engine runs like it is on full...

I don't think it has anything to do with the high/low settings, but in case was the carb pre adjusted or did you adjust them yourself. Did you put the throttle cable in the right hole on the throttle plate if there is more than one. Check the idle speed screw (not the low needle) to make sure it is not causing this. Look to make sure the throttle butterfly is not binding in the open position or that the throttle cable itself is the culprit. Maybe your gasket moved when re-installing causing plate to stay open. I suggest removing carb and inspecting for any of these problems. Maybe there is something wrong with your new carb! I hope this helps out. Happy to answer any questions.

Why does my mower shut off after I turn the choke off?

It sounds like you took the carb off the engine and did not replace the gasket or tore the gasket and it is sucking too much air. Also check to see if the carb and bracket ( if it has one ) are on straight.

Poulan 3700 will not keep running when you open the choke.

The prob is at the base of the carb. Its sucking air. Be certain to install a new gasket, making sure the both services are very clean. And the mounting bolts tightened equally! Frankster016

the fuel rails inside the carb could be clogged, try cleaning with carb cleaner and blowing out the rails with compressed air. or the car may need replaced.

Changed all major gaskets: Cylinder to crankcase, case half, exhaust & carb. Now it runns right. The carb can be adjusted and the choke is full open when warmed up as it's supposed to be.

Gaskets ca be bought from Homelite directly at http://www.homelite.com/service_support/order_parts

Enter the model numbers & see the exploded views. Torque values are provided in the parts lists.
