If you dont have any idea of how to do a scan, will be a good idea to get the manual of your printer first in order to help you out better with this issue.

You can download the manual here:

The scanner is scanning a page in parts (two to three pages result) instead of simply producing one scan per one page,,,how do I get it ti go back to producing one scanned page ?

You do not say how you are scanning. i mean whether you are scanning from the adf or the flat bed. I would assume the problem is with adf scanning. however, make a flatbed scan and see if it comes out as one page, it probably does. If so then the problem lays with the adf section of the machine. open the cover and you will see a black arm that is sprung loaded. When you load a doc the arm is pressed so the machine knows something is there. now follow the route of the doc and on the turn there is another arm. now i reckon this arm is sticking. See if anything is stuck around it remove it.

Try again and hopefully things will be better. If not repost with more accurate detail.

thanks
paul.

I don't know how to use a scanner....LOL I mean, I have one, but I have never figured out how to actually "scan" anything in...LOL

PLace the document to scan facing down onto the canning glass. Open the scanning application installed on your computer (If you dont have the apploication, install it with the CD that you would have recieved with the product). Then follow the instructions and then save the scanned document as desired.

When ever i try and scan a document, i get a message that sais that "the system cannot find the specified file". due to this problem i can scan anything.

Hello Jazzist91

I have the same problem with a new laptop running windows 7. Seems like something is wrong with the win 7 driver as the 7010 scans fine with my old laptop running vista. I tried activiating the microsoft scanner and using this but this also doesn't work which is why I think it must be the scanner driver.

I also tried re-installing the brother software abd faithfully followed all instructions. No joy either.

So I don't have a solution to our problem but I guess brother will eventually fix it.

Did you get anywhere with it? If so let me know

you most likely require the twain driver that should work over usb - you should be able to download that from the hp website.

Try to install the latest version of Printer software from www.kodak.com/go/downloads on your computer. then open the kodak home center software and click on scan pictures. Adjust the settings and you are ready to go. download the user manual from www.kodak.com/go/manuals. may be problem with scanner drivers. new software will fix up your issue. Enjoy.

I want to scan

I got it to scan. I found this by the grace of God. I have the same problem with the print cartridges. But I was attemting to get into my camera. I went to the 'My computer' Icon on Windows XP. Under that part of the file system, I have the "HP PSC 1600 series" icon under the scanners and printers. I double clicked this, and it allowed me to scan an image.
