Hi, your best free way would be to download "Avast" do a scan of your whole system and then do a boot scan, its all easy and straight forward to do, I hope this helps :) https://www.avast.com/en-eu/index
Firstly you must have virus protection on your computer. There are plenty of free anti virus software on the internet. Avira, AVG No need to accept the extras that come with the download. Or Windows Security Essentials seem to do a good job. Run the program and find out what type of virus it is. Do some searches on the internet and find out the best way to get rid of it. Sometimes the best way is the easiest way. Maybe , just your anti virus software is enough. Free Malwarebytes is also a must to install on a windows OS. Personally I will not surf the internet if I do have anti virus software and Malwarebytes.
Sorry!!! I know you don't want to hear this, but the best way to erase them is to do a good backup of your files on a removable media (USB drive), scan the media you back up your files to with a VIRUS FREE computer with a GOOD UP TO DATE anti-virus, REINSTALL WINDOWS FROM SCRATCH on the infected computer (hours of pleasure), INSTALL A GOOD ANTI-VIRUS than bring back the files...
Yes it is possible but it may not fully remove the virus, it depends upon the type of virus infection.
If you have not installed a virus protection program, then this makes your task more difficult.
I would try a WEB base virus removal program first, provided you can connect to the Internet. Try these WEB base virus links first and if successful then install a virus program.

If all fails then you need to format your hard disk and install Windows again together with the computer's device drivers and your programs.
there are plenty of free antivirus software! Some of them having online scaning (u don;t have to install the antivirus). Google for them and use them, most of them are very good and up to date with virus databases...
Try installing other anti-virus like NOD32 or karspersky. You can also try to do a system restore, this may or may not solve the problem though, also using the system restore may get rid of some application you have install prior to the date you will revert it to.
