Won't let me insert a disc (by 2 users)

posted by Froogy on Sep 09, 2006

when i go to put a disc in, it accepts the disc, makes a loud whirring sound for about 5 seconds, then spits the cd back out. if i put in the disc and quickly put the faceplate back up, it does the same thing and says 'NO DISC'. it first happened on a hot day, so i thought maybe the heat fried all the cds in my car, but i tried a different one and it did the same thing.
I have the same problem.

Try cleaning the unit with a laser lens cleaner disc and see if this helps at all. If not it sounds like your laser assembly may have failed.
