You are download grading your Operating System to XP from Vista. Drivers for Vista and XP are diferent.

You can download the Audio drivers for XP from Dell Support Site for your laptop.
Check your "Device Manager" and uninstall the previous drivers and reinstall the XP Audio drivers downloaded from Dell Site.

Hope it helps.

I cannot open Personal Microsoft word documents after copying a document from the internet that required installing Micro-soft XP Professional 2007, without having the disk.

Hello and thank you for using Fixya's services.

It sounds like you downloaded the trial version of Microsoft Office 2007? If so, then you will need to also download the utility that converts the old documents to the new 2007 file extension.

If this doesn't work, then you can do a system restore by going to start menu, accessories. system tools and restore. Restore to the day before you installed 2007. This will fix all the issues.

Hope this helps!

Here are versions of a removal tool:

Virus? Taskmanager is broken

Doesn't seem like a need to reformat just yet. And, you may not have a virus.

Have you updatd to XP SP3? You can find out by clicking the Windows key +Pause simotaneously in the subsequent popup it should be noted under "System:"

There is a way to repair your installation without reformatting.

Let me know about my above quesions and I'll be happy to get you to a Anti Virus program that scans during Boot Up and also get you started to Repair the OS.
