Yes its abnormal..it should be done quite soon..the download is typically 120MB or so..do check your internet and network connections..if your updating via thumb drive etc make sure you have the right version for the update and have followed the procedure for the update...do check the ps3 website for more details..hope it helps!

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Windows 7 won't bootup, has error recovery. it loads files then nothing. screen is black.

Had that problem a few times myself.
Only way I could fix was to restore back to factory condition.
As you boot, watch bottom of screen closely.
depending on system, Should need to press F2, F10, possibly F12, might even be Del.
Most likely you didn't get restore disk, or have made one.
If you do, insert disk before boot up. System should boot to DvD.
Don't forget once restored to update.
Hope this helps

Just got it yesterday. it is so so slow, unbelievable. it took me so many hours to update kaspersky and still has not completed. to stop updating took another hour. even dowloading google chrome was too...

Actually, I've done some more investigating, and my original problem is two problems. The downloading of updates at a slow rate is one, and the CPU maximisation is another.

In regards to the CPU maximisation, it is svchost.exe (system) which hits 99% load after I've been on the net for about 30 seconds - and no its not a virus because I've wiped the system and the problem hasn't changed!

I tried to update my blackberry pearl 8130 and i accidently typed something wrong when i put in my password, now it says JVM Error 513 and i don;t know what that means. how can i put it back to normal...

JVM Error 513 mean java virtual machine error ,, 513 mean that it isnt loading.. the blackberry uses java as its operating system.. use the blackberry application to update the phone again this will solve the issue,, if not use restore ,, both options are in the desktop application.. basically just update he phone again :)

I removed the battery on my acer last night and when I turned it back on it went to system repair. It has been repairing for 12 hours now. What is wrong with it.

For me... This has nothing to do with your battery.... Don't worry about the battery... Sometimes, the computer runs the system repair as there is something wrong with your driver and operating system.... The system repair normally fix whatever it can on your computer.... The running time maybe from a few minutes, few hours and also for a long time... so, just bear with it.... it will be back to normal soon....

During system restore my monitor went black, is this normal? restoring back to 5 days..........dont know if i should shut computer down and start over or leave it alone, it has been an hour now.

u hvae to undo last restoration then just atke it back a few days not a whole week sometimes this does happen because drivers are updated and when u do a restore they dont un update they just are set for that point in time when the update was done for monitor software...to say it better restorations only restore the programs not the drivers...

Restore disc for ibm thinkpad

I restored my computer system a few weeks ago. It took a few hours or the recovery and a few days to get everything back on, including updates and programs. Make sure it's plugged in since the it will reboot a few times.

Back up all your data because, it will all be wiped and restored to the original factory image.
Make sure you have copies of all your programs. If your MS Office was installed at the factory, it should be on there.

Step 1 - When you boot up, at the first screen press the system option to invoke recovery (means press one of the F2, F3 or F10 per screen, located at the top - whichever says system recovery). Your laptop did not come with a CD because it has a system partition that has the orginal system build.

Once you invoke recovery, it will rebuild your system, including formatting and resetting up your OS.

Step 2 - Load program and updates. Go to windowsupdate site and run the windows updates, go to the Office site and run those. Find the scanners that will recognize your software.

Download ThinkVantage System Update (Lenovo). It will automatically recognize your laptop and update all the system utilities. ThinkPad is owned by Lenove, not IBM now.

This all works great but very time consuming.

System reboots when acpi turned off

Hi martinkp, what you need is the update from windows. Leave you're acpi enabled withing the bios. Check windows update. Windows will update (windows software for the acpi). Rule of thumb concerning windows update. Check the dates of the updates & install in order, oldest to newest. This should fix you're system from shutting down. There will be no reason to turn off acpi after updating.
