Printer saying yellow cartridge empty put new oone in but telling me the same problem but not a epson cartridge the new one i bought

Are you saying that the new cartridge was not Epson (I'm assuming that you have an Epson printer.)? If you're using a generic cartridge, you should try a new one from Epson. Sometimes generic cartridges won't work.

Are you positive it says the yellow cart is empty? Because that brother printer is designed to say that a cartridge is empty whenever ANY of the color cartridges are empty. Usually it doesn't tell you which one is really empty either. So even if you replaced the yellow cartridge and say, the black cartridge is empty, it still won't let you print until you replace that empty black cartridge, nor will you know which of the cartridges is empty unless you pull them out of the printer and manually check the ink levels.

Its pretty much a guessing game with those old brother ink printers.

Epson BX600fx (4 months old)tells me cartridges are empty even with new ones or says they can't be recognised and therefore no longer prints so I'm left with just a very bulky scanner and fax machine...


Know THAT feeling well.


Sometimes a new Ink Cartridge has a faulty chip built in.
This is probably what the problem is here.

Replace it by taking the printer to where you bought the new cartridges and have them replace with new cartridges and make sure they work BEFORE you leave the shop.

Bad printing after changing 2 inks also clicking noise not before


shouldn't be the ink. I assume you have an epson as in the picture. my ink refill kit mentions that "epson intellidge chipped cartridges" require an "ink level resetter" to complete the kit. So if you have these cartridges even once refilled the chip tells the printer the cartridge is still empty so you'll need to reset the chip with the ink level resetter.

Says the yellow ink needs replacing,have a new ink cartridge in


pulled plug, removed yellow cartridge, cleaned point where yellow ink goes in, put plug back in and it worked.........Thanks

Printer won't recognise new toner cartridge


Is the new cartridge made by Epson? Also check the contacts on the cartridge and in the printer where the cartridge contacts mate. Sometimes there is foreign material that blocks the signals. It's also possible that you have a defective cartridge. Check with the place you bought it.

You have a wide format printer but it has the same basic principle as the desktops. You can buy remanufactured cartridges which were reset for you. Or you can refill them. If you refill them, you need a resetter because Epson cartridges have a chip on them which needs to be reset. Because when they are empty, the printer will recognize it as empty and will not function till you put in a new cartridge. If you bought a remanufactured cartridge, and your printer won't recognize it, you need to go back to who sold you the cartridge and either have them reset it or give you a replacement.
