Q: How can I make my computer recognize my MP3 player as an external/removable drive?

A: You basically have to lie to your computer and tell it that your player is a UMS device...
What's happening is that newer versions of Windows and Windows Media Player come pre-loaded with MTP drivers. Your older computers probably don't have the drivers, so they fall back to communicating with your players via UMS mode, which makes them show up as regular flash drives.

You can forcibly change the device's drivers to the regular UMS ones and your computer should see it as a flash drive.
Are you wondering how to use your Sansa Express (SE) in both the default MTP mode, and in UMS(MSC) flash drive mode? Here’s how to do it, without uninstalling MTP drivers or editing the Registry.

    • Plug in your device. It should be recognized by the system and installed as an MTP device the first time you plug it in.
    • Open Device Manager. Find your Sansa Express under Portable Devices. Right click. Update driver.
    • Select: No, not this time, Next.
    • Select: Install from a list or specific location (Advanced), Next.
    • Select: Don’t Search. I will choose the driver to install, Next.
    • Be sure to check the box beside Show compatible hardware.
    • Highlight USB Mass Storage Device, Next.

My Samsung YH-925 20 GB MP3 dose not charge

there is a possibility that the battery is malfunctioning or there is a problem with the device itself.

You can try to replace the battery, try another charger. If that does not work, that means the device is already for replacement.

I had the same error message and was told by Samsung that I needed to send my MP-3 player to their service center. It would seem that the Hard Drive crashed. I had to get a "Transaction Number" from the Service Rep at Samsung before I could even send the MP-3 back. Mine was out of warranty so it was going to cost me $125.00 for parts and labor to have it fixed.
