-   Yes, our problem is that we are continutally disconnected from the internet. We have call waiting enabled (from phone company). Could this be the problem.....sometimes immediately after being disconnected, the phone will ring....not always, however. Should we discontinue the call waiting feature. Please don't get too technical with your answer as I am not very savy. Will appreciate any help....this problem is very frustrating. D.R. Heimburg-   Guest
the issue can be resolved basing on the feedback from you.
the possibility: if the telephone line u are using for both voice and data transfer you will be get disconnected when a caller calls you on the line. So check up with the telephone company to enable call waiting facility for you line.
hi, the issue can be resolved by checking the configuration of the modem. i know when you say, you get disconnected after a few min, may be the lines coming into your home are not able to support the dsl signal.

I bought this modem to record and log incomming calls. I can record, dial out, use the hyperterminal and displays ok when AT+VCID=1 is entered. While in hyperterminal I had someone call me and it displayed, Ring, Ring, date, callers name, number, then Ring. I have tried many Telephony softwares and none of them display the caller id info. They just report an incomming call. I installed the latest driver from Jaton.com. I am totally lost. I also typed on the properties box for the modem in the extra initialization strings "+VCID" (without the quotes) and nothing happens.
