MyMusix mp3 player with a MS-DOS (FAT16) format

When I hook it up to my computer, it says there is not any memory. There aren't any songs or anything on it. I looked up the info, and it says that the memory has been used on disk. How can I get back the memory so I can put songs on it?

what computer operating sytem. Windows what or MAC what?

most likely the mp3 player need to be at least FAT32. we are not pre-dating the system.FAT16 is prior to Win95.

I only have one item recorded on the musix and I want to know if after it is played and I am asleep will it automatically shut off the power (my first choice), re-play, or just sit there with the power on until I manually turn it off in the morning?

Mac should able to detect the MP3 format. unless you chage it by mistake.
Mac has its own format issue. this I think you should ask Apple, since both these are Apple porduct. they should have better answer than I can provide.

good luck

Having a Mac for use isn't wrong, I have a MS-DOS (FAT16) and it runs on my Mac. The problem is inside the MP3, most likely something damaged.

Mac reformatted

MP3 players expect an MS-DOS (or FAT) format.

They do not read Mac formatted memory.

Reformat the MP3 player to MS-DOS format (your files will be deleted, so back them up if necessary) and the player should read the memory once more.

Reformating the internal media to fat16,how?

Go to the Mymusix website and download the player update utility (located here: http://mymusix.mmvoice.com/products/audio/PD-6070/software.html )
install it, then use these instructions, but start at step 9. http://mymusix.mmvoice.com/products/audio/PD-6070/PD6070Vistaonlyfaq.html
.
I never got it to actually complete the update process, but it did format it, which solves the problem. Hope this helps

Error! reformat internal media as FAT16

can you reach the data from computer (my computer)?
if so save what you think is important and then try reformatting it and then paste back the songs only.

MP3 Player reads reformat error Fat16. How do I reformat it?

Plug the mp3 player into the computer
Double-click My Computer
Right-click icon of the mp3 player
Select Format
It will give you a choice usually between FAT and FAT32 - FAT is the same as FAT16 in Windows-speak, so select "FAT"

If you have plugged your mp3 player into a Mac, you are out-of-luck.

Error! Reformat Internal Media as FAT16

Wow! FAT16! I wonder why it would want you to do that?

Here's how you do it on a Windows-based OS:
Connect mp3 player to computer
Double-click My Computer
Right-click the icon of the mp3 player
Select Format
When it gives you a choice between FAT and FAT32, choose FAT

When you hook it up, you should see an icon on your computer for the MP3 player.
I download songs from iTunes to my MAC, then drag them to the MP3 player. However, they do not come from i'Tunes in a MP3 format. I found this on the internet for how to change the format:

When iTunes is open, find "preferences" and then locate "importing" (just look around on the different tabs till you find these, since Mac and Windows put them in different spots) tell it to import using MP3 encoder from the drop down bars, and say OK. now you can right click on the song you want to convert and select "convert to mp3".

Then drag the MP3 song to the MYMusix player icon and it should copy the song.
