Darena,

I think we experienced some technical difficulties earlier. I apologize. I got the prompt that you're question was attended by another technician. And I didnt see your messages until I checked my profile and my chat sessions. You can go back to your profile and try to reconnect to the chat if you're issue is still not resolved. You can email fixya if you cant get thru the chat feature again.

Thanks.

How do I upgrade my bios for toshiba laptop ?

Why do you want to update the BIOS of your laptop? Be careful about updating your BIOS because it might cause your computer to crash.

Or are you trying to update the drivers in your computer?

If you are having some issues with its performance, then you need to update all the outdated drivers in your computer. I know that it's a total headache if you do the update manually but don't worry because there are Automatic PC Updater like RadarSync. It will scan and update all outdated drivers in your computer.

I hope this helps!

Everytime I do a windows update, it either crashes or hangs on "shutting down" (after leaving it on all night!). Then I lose everything. Help!

you have to be more spacific on what you are doing and what os you are using. Are you using Windows 7 or Vista. If you are using vista, Dont. upgrade to windows 7, it's worth it. but everything else aside, try different ways of installing the updates. you can download the updates manually and install them other then just letting automatic updates do everything.

Computer crashed and says "Missing NTLDR." I have

Hello, before you do anything drastic, my computer crashed and on reboot said the same thing. After panicking (and a cup of tea), I found the bios had defaulted to booting from the wrong disk. All was ok after I set the bios back to boot from the correct disk again.
Hope this helps!
best wishes,

I have a toshiba satelite laptop a blue screen appears after i try to log in or log into a safe mode or try to repair its vista

You need to boot from a vista disk. or download the vista recovery disk from microsoft and see if it will repair it. something has corrupt the system files. use the repair from the vista cd not the start up repair from the vista boot screen. if it says it cant find a problem then use the system restore points to restore to a time when it worked. you can acces these from the vista cd after it tries to do start u prepair without having to log into vista.

I open my toshiba satelite but the windows starter set up does not work and only a hypen on the upper left corner appears every time i open it.

Try to boot and at start up press f-10 this should boot to a list of start up options if you have not tryed this boot to last good known confiruration, this will take you to the last place your computer was running before it crashed .the hypen or cursor may indicate the harddrive has crashed and you may need to reinstall the os Good luck

Take advantage of Microsofts offer to go to Windows 7. You will solve this one problem now only to encounter more later.

Drivers issues: Sound (Realtech) and Touch pad (Synaptics)

I would go to the Toshiba site and looking for the Synaptics and sound drivers and reinstalling just them.
Apparently something interrupted the updates and that affected the drivers.
Another thing you can do is start the computer with the system disk and choose the repair your computer option. It should check your hard drive for errors.

My Asus notebook series X52S is not booting up, it is turning on, and saying that there is a critical error and then requests whether i start windowns normally of start up in safe mode. I request safe...

There's a selection on that screen for "last known good configuration" - try that, sometimes a driver that has been recently installed can cause a machine to crash on boot. If that doesn't help, you can attempt to boot from the installation CD that came with the computer and repair the system. Boot from the install CD, select ENTER in order to continue with the setup program (trust me, we're not going to do a full setup, but you have to choose the first option here...). More files will load from the CD - the next screen should be the repair screen - it should say "To repair the selected Windows XP installation, press R" - press R, and the repair should begin. Reboot after it's done.

Please rate this answer if it's helped you out, thanks!!

I know someone who had a toshiba and the computer crashed. I think you can solve it by downloading some kind of updates but I dont know where or what to get. I would appreciate some help. If you all could...

First to determine what problem for crash, wherther its a hardware or software issue. If it a operating ystem problem like not booting up or corrupted files you can restore it with help of the operating system or even not possible go for factory default restore but you may loose all your datas.

To get update from Toshiba you should know the model number and details.

For US customers and UK customers inculding world wide customers they have different support site
http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/su/su_sc_home.jsp

http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/jsp/home.do?service=UK

Windows OS update you get from Microsoft site or enabling Automatic update..
