Question about Vodavi Starplus SP7314-08 Corded Phone

1 Answer

Time restriction on conference calls.

I'm trying to setup a 3-way conference call (between my office and two other offices) and unsupervised calls between two outside phone (client calls my office when I'm in the field and the secretary calls my cell and sets up an unsupervised confrence between my cell and the client and hangs up). The 3-way supervised is setup using Feature 60 and the unsupervised conference is setup by using Feature 77 after setting up a supervised conference. In either case, the outside lines are dropped after 1 minute (the default Unsupervised Conference Time). I realize I can set timer to a max of 15 minutes, but is there anyway to remove the time limit entirely? I've tried using the "*" button after the hearing the timeout warning tone, but it has no affect.

Am I missing something?

Thanks

Hi, I have been going crazy with a Starplus stse conference call issue.
This phone system is supposed to support five outside lines. Today, as I was attemtping a conference call, I dialed the first outside line, got connected and pressed "conference" to move to the second outside party. I connected to the second outside party and again pressed "conference", dialing the third party caused trouble, the call went to voicemail.

In the manual it states I should "press one of the conference parties on hold. This drops the busy or wrong number party. Press conference button again and repeat"

How do I press one of the conference parties on hold? Only the conference button was lit, I could not get back to a dial tone and had to abort the conference call.

    thanks for any help

Panasonic kx t7436 how many conference will do conference

you can do as many conferences as you have phones, but one phone can have one conference at a time with 3 total parties(depending on your phone system) in the conference (so yourself and 2 other people, inside or outside of the office)

if you have a TDA/TDE/NCP phone system (blue box on the wall or in a computer rack) you can have 5 people in a single conference...

if you have a TD phone system (white box on the wall) you are limited to a 3 party conference

Sound issues with Forwarded calls to cell

Are you using a PRI, or POTS lines?

Probably pots lines, as this is a common occurance when forwarding out over pots lines.

Basically you are doing an unsupervised conference call when you forward to cell.

To prove the lines in the office are the problem, set up a conference call. If the 2 remote people can not hear each other the same as you describe in your forwarding, then it is the POTS lines.

The problem is, no one is going to be able to do anything about it. If this is an important feature, then you may want to look at a new system that can have different line types and then this isnt a problem.

To make a Conference Call
1. While on a call, press Cnf/Trn_____.
2. Dial a [DN] (or access an outside line and
dial an external telephone number).
3. Press Cnf/Trn after the called party answers.
All parties are conferenced together.
If you added an outside line to the call, press
Cnf/Trn again before hanging up to allow
the outside parties to continue talking. (If
you do not, the call is disconnected).

Feature 71

If you have a manual, look up RECALL or FLASH or LINK. Specifically Feature 70 and FEAT 71. In your spare button set, you probaly have gray buttons labeled CONF/TRANS and LINK. Now you use them depends on how you are transferring calls. Are you on Centrex or do you have 3 way Conference calling from the telco? That's the one where you can establish a 3 way call and hang up and the other two parties stay connected. If you have that, you'll use the LINK button to get second dial tone, dial your number, and press LINK again to establish a 3-way. LINK time is defaulted at 600 mS, and is adjusted in A 4. Misc programming under LINK. You may just have 3-way calling, and that means the middle party has to stay on the call.

If you don't have 3-way conferencing, you can use the system to conference (using two lines), and the CONF/TRANS button. There may be some disconnect supervision (ie DS cabinet) issues, Supervised/Unsupervised programmnig changes, and transmission losses in conferencing, so your mileage may vary. Best would be maybe to conference with a VoIP trunk or other lossless facility. Anyway, you put the first call on hold, make the second call, then press CONF and the held line to establish a 3-way. At this point, if you have Disconnect Supervision, you can press conference again and leave the call, or put the call on HOLD to keep it on your phone and the other 2 parties can still talk to each other.
