I have the printer connected to my laptop with a usb. I was printing fine this morn and when i tried to commence printing this pm it piled everything up in a que and stated the printer was out of paper when it wasnt! It is copying fine and taking the paper from the tray. I have deleted the printer and reinstalled it and now it says idle and still wont print! PLEASE HELP!!!

Try doing a machine self test to ensure that it is working properly.
Press OK/return to "Machine Info"
Then down arrow once to "Test Print" and OK/Return.
The machine should produce a self test printout. If the machine does not give a print out, try cleaning the paper pick up rollers at the back of the paper tray cavity. Be careful, the machine is heavy.
If a full test print happens - Your printer is working fine and the problem is at the computer end.
It's possible driver installion is faulty or incomplete and you should try re-installing the printer driver. Is it also possible that your printer paper settings are either incorrect or do not match the paper in the printer. Check and match your paper settings in the printer preferences and the paper tray.
I would recommend that you undock the laptop, go into the Printers and Faxes console, and delete the printer. Then, dock the laptop, connect the USB cable to the dock and then re-install the printer through the dock. The USB ports on the laptop are assigned different hardware values than the PCI interface of the dock, and if the laptop is trying to print to a local USB port, it may not find the printer if it's connected through a PCI interface like the dock. That'd be my next move.
Every time this device runs out of paper, it's a hassle. I powered off the pc and the printer, and then moved the usb cable to another usb port. Power on the printer and after it has gone thru its startup, power on the computer. Then the jobs in the queue printed just fine.
ok..first try to make a copy and check if it copies fine or not..
if it copies then hardware is working fine..
turn off the laptop and unplug the USB cable..
turn on the laptop and wait for 5mins and then connect the USB cable..once the USB cable is connected do not try printing..wait for the hardware to get installed..
and then go to the printers folder and check if the printer icon says 0 ready..if it says then try printing..that should work
try this: make sure you do not have any pending printjobs (cancel all documents if there's one) then delete all printer icons. Reboot the computer then launch the printer server software to locate it. add that network printer & make it your default.
probability is that some of your applications are sending printjobs to the wrong queue (like the one for the USB connection).
I have just setup DP-300U rev.B1 with my Konica Minolta Bizhub 162, the thing is that it doesn't work with USB port connected (paper out), then I tried connecting Bizhub 162 to LPT port, and it works just fine...
We need to remove the USB cable from the printer, navigate to Services and restart the Print Spooler service and refresh the Printers folder. Turn Off and turn ON the printer. Connect the USB cable to the printer and we would be now able to Print frmo computer.
check for viruses first, then try by reinstalling the drivers, if not solved go to device manager and check for usb printing support in usb , if you can see just uninstall it and reinstall the drivers for the printer, if still you have the same problem then try with another usb, post back your findings
Try connecting the printer via the USB port on either one of the computers. Then test if the machine prints fine then likely possibility is that the Network interface card is faulty remove the network card and install in a different slot and test. If the same thing happens then reinstall the drivers and test.
