HOW CAN I PRINT FOLDER CONTENTS SIMILLAR TO THE DOS CAOMMAND TREE > PRN

Go to start button. In the start menu click RUN and in the box that opens type "cmd"
In the CLI go to the directory of the folder whose content you want to print and type the following and press enter to create list.txt file first before printing.

dir /b /s /on >list.txt

This will give you a text file (list.txt) in the folder, that you
can manipulate, print etc. in a text editor or
word processor. In order to redirect the output
directly to your printer, instead of a text file, type:

dir /b /s /on >prn

Old engraving graphics type program in XP. Programs works but won't send information to engraver.Seems to be some type of port issue. When program is closed then re-opened it thinks the port is still in...

I'm guessing here completely, but I've got 2 things that you could try:

1) On the shortcut/executable, right-click; select properties; and set the compatibility mode for an older operating system

2) Are you sending the information out via a printer/virtual printer of some kind?  If so, you could try skipping the print driver and ticking the 'Print directly to printer' box in the options
Control panel --> Printers --> Your printer --> Right-click & properties (or settings, can't remember)

Good luck!

User prints a Powerpoint 2007 doc and several of the slides have missing info. One has the upper left quadrant partially printing and two others have 3/4 of the slide partially printing. Fresh install of...

I would recommend you download the latest drivers for your printer, and also check to see if your powerpoint has updates as well.

also, its possible your printer does not have enough memory to print complex graphics, try reducing the quality or resolution of your file.

thanks adi

Remote Desktop printing with TCP/IP printer

Go to the control panel on the remote server. Then go to the printers screen. From there "add a printer". Once there, select "local printer attached to this computer" and make sure to un-check the "automatically detect and install ... " option.

Then click next and select the second option of "create a new port" with the type of port being "standard TCP/IP port"

Enter the IP address of the printer. The name could also be entered, but the IP address would be better. Leave the port name as the default which will populate as you enter the IP address.

Once through there, go through the process of adding the drivers just as you've done before. The screen to do this will pop up automaticall, though it may take a moment. You might be able to just select the printer drivers from the list. But if you have the drivers saved on your server, it is best to click "have disk" and manually install the drivers.

My computer system Microsoft XP.. I have a desktop icon to open the word processor (Microsoft Word)... When I click on the icon a box opens indicating "unsupported format." I then click cancel and it...

I suggest you start by uninstalling Word (control panel | add/remove software) and reinstalling it. You can also try reinstalling the printer driver. Ask again if this doesn't resolve your problem.

From mac leopard cannot print duplex on minolta qms 3100 printer

Hello, sorry you are having problems,
OK, are you sure your printer supports duplex printing and if you are sure you have the right driver installed, this is how you print in duplex mode on a Mac.
Open the document you want to print, Hit cmd+p to get the print dialogue window you should see this: 46da167.png

Notice you have the option of two sided printing in the same line as # of copies.
If you do not have this option in 10.5.6, then you might have the wrong driver, N.B. you must be sure to select the proper driver when you are creating the printer in the Print and Fax preference. Another way to ensure you have the driver properly installed, go to the manufacturer's website and download the Mac Driver Installer and run the installer, delete the printer you created and then re-create the printer again it should auto-recognize the printer..
