Kodak Easy Share M873 suddenly not working

Hello. I hope you can help me. Now, when I turn my camera on, it focuses on its own, the screen goes blurry, and then the camera turns off altogether. I have charged it recently. Could the battery be bad?

My camera turns on and then it proceeds to take random photos by itself.  The camera is 14 months old and it has never been dropped or exposed to liquid etc etc.  The problem began 5 DAYS after the warranty expired.  I am bitterly disappointed in it.  Of-course, Kodak will offer to look at it for the princely sum of $70.00 b/c it is 'out of warranty'.  At this point, I am finished with Kodak and their cheap products.  Anyone have a recommendation for another camera brand?

What happened is that the camera got turned on in your pocket or somewhere and the lens got jammed trying to open up. The problem is that the outer lens ring is not turning all the way and the camera doesn't fully load.

Solution 1: Put the camera into the charger, press the power button so the green light is flashing, unplug it from the charger. The camera will try to realign its lens. (You might have to do this a few times.)

Solution 2: Manually help turn the outer lens ring clockwise when it turns on.

I want ot down load the photos from my Kodak easyshare M873 digital camera to my PC.How do i do it

If you have the USB data cable that came with the camera hook it up and plug it in and it should show up as a Removable Drive when you click My Computer; you could also use the SD card if you have one put that into your computer if you have an SD card slot or an external SD card reader.

If you don't have a manual it is available online here:

Good luck!

Pictures are blurry

The auto-focus mechanism is defective. Take it back to the vendor and exchange it for another one.

Hope this helps,
