I have a similar problem. I have the 2700 professional series Ready Start with NO choke adjustment. It tries to start but won't keep running. I am going to buy START at Wal Mart and see if that will fix it.

Dear gcombs,
One small problem, which might sound silly, is to check that the tap of the fuel is open. There are other reasons why fuel does not come. I think that fuel is not coming, or on the contrary, it could be that too much fuel is entering the engine. So you must check for a choke correction(if it has one). I am blaming the fuel system, because you said that the spark plug, sparks really well. A wrong grade or type of fuel could also be the cause. Also I suggest as you are trying to start the engine and adjusting and checking the fuel system...this must be done with no load at all. So remove the gun(or open it without nozzle...but better to remove the gun, so you have both hands on machine)....and you can supply water if you want. But work and test with NO LOAD!!

Spark Plug Gap - Troy-Bilt

Will not shut off have to run it out of gas

It won't shut down because the gizmo that shorts the spark plug is not working. If possible take an insulated screw driver and either pull the spark plug wire off the plug or try to touch the end of the plug and the engine at the same time. If the switch is in the gas lever there may be an adjustment on or in it that shorts the plug out.

Engine on powerwasher starts but quits running after approx 10 seconds. Engine oil changed, oil is full & tried choke in various positions. Also has fresh fuel in tank. What else can I do

try cleaning the carb that ethanol plays havoc on these small engines if it is not a premix oil and gas unit add a little 2 cycle engine oil to the gas will keep the carbon builup to a minimum not to much it will gunk up your spark plug take the carb apart and clean it with carb cleaner or deisellet dry check your spark plug make sure it is clean and ok that is where I would start

Hi. I have a Briggs & Stratton 2800PSI gas pressure washer. I can get it to start, but after about 5 min, then it quits. I have cleaned the carb, change oil, changed plug, new gas, cleaned/checked...

if it wont start, check for you do that,ok take the spark plug wire out put it close to the sparkplug(use some gloves or something to insulate your self from get electric shot from the spark) find some one who pull the start rope, if you dont see any spark between wire and spark plug, tehre its not spark ,it will never will have to remove the start recoil on the botton is like a damper whitch will have to be remove also ,on botton of it its like a coil whitch with the rotation of the damper when you pull the starter rope provoke the spark and send it to spark plug along with the gas combution get the engine started.that coil some time goes bad and have to be change.if you have electric starter. check the starter also.good luck
