Question about Lenovo 3000 N100 Notebook

1 Answer

Frozen Screen I have a 20 month old Lenovo 3000 T100 laptop. Right now, once I login to windows, the screen is frozen. I can see the desktop and move the cursor, etc, but if I double click on any icon, nothing happens. The Start menu or quick launch icons do not work either. If I try to rapidly double click, there is this loud beep (similar to the one I head if the battery is low). But.. everything works fine on Safe mode though. Any solutions anyone? Thanks

Aruis, thanks. But that was not the problem. Also, I made a mistake in giving you the mode. its actually Lenovo 3000 C200.
Anyway, I still have the problem... It goes into the booting process to different levels at different times, and at some of the times it even throws a 'Server Busy' window, but does not let me click on the 'Switch to' or the 'Retry' button... I can click, but nothing happens. Does not even open the Task Manager to see if there is any application running, which possibly is taking up the CPU space...

Lenovo G480 cant adjust screen brightness! please help

On AC or Battery? As I'm sure you know, your Laptop will dim the Display on Battery to save power. In Windows 7, Open the Control Panel, select Power Options, select High Performance, select Change Plan settings, set Display time, set Sleep and Hibernate to Never, select Change Advanced Power settings, scroll through each one by one and adjust. OR right click a open spot on the Desktop, select Personalize, left bottom select Display. adjust to your preference.

Push and hold the on/off switch. OR, Pull the AC plug and allow the battery to drain. If it is under warranty, return it or replace.

I was playing an online game and suddenly everything was blocked. I hit del/alt/ctrl buttons and i restarted laptop but mouse pointer is still frozen and i can't enter windows. i have a lenovo laptop, it's...

1. Lenovo's are top of the line laptops.

2. anything could have happened.
your hard drive died. your video card crapped out. your motherboard burned a diode or a component, your power adapter spiked in voltage. you got hit with lightning. you were infected with a virus.

lenovo laptops usually have a blue button to hit or you can hit the F2 key during startup. In some cases it might be the delete button.

See if you can enter the bios screen?

If you can post back and tell us where it hangs with more information.

Can't login, and mouse freezes

a few possibilities. try booting into safe mode (by hitting the f8 key BEFORE windows starts).
it could be overheating, try dusting out the laptop with a can of air or low-psi air compressor.
could also be bad or failing ram.
try the top 2 and let me know.

Display problem

Your display driver is the windows generic driver. You need the video driver from IBM for your model machine. Installing the correct driver will give you the higher resolution you seek.
