I have the same problem, but the error only occurs when I try to print a .pdf file (Adobe Reader) using the "Lexmark Optra SC 1275 PS" driver. For some reason the PS driver didn't like .pdf files! My solution was to always print .pdf files using the alternative " Lexmark Optra SC 1275 (MS)" driver, which Lexmark also offers on its website.
No. Type Details (Symptom, Possible Cause, Troubleshooting Procedures) 553 A Heating roller overheat (software error) The detected heating roller temperature stays at 230°C or more for 1 second. • Defective PSU • Defective lOB • Defective EGB Related SC code: SC 543 1. Replace the PSU. 2. Replace the lOB. 3. Replace the EGB. This is the simptoms of the service manual , you should check that your power output is stable and double check if there is not anything like paper stuck some were in the fuzing unit wich could also cause the fuzer to over heat
Not sure if your printer is the same, but one ricoh I saw had an energy saving setting, that's meant to play with the warm up time of the heating roller.
If you still have the manual and can find the access to such settings, you could try it with each one of the settings, to see if it fixes the problem.
It's possible that with energy saving turned off your problem will be solved, which isn't a bad idea for a frequently used school machine.
If it does solve it, you could ask the users to make sure the machine is turned off when it's not being used for a long period of time.
