Question about Printers & Copiers

1 Answer

I own an HP Photosmart C4280 All-in-One Series printer which I use with an iMac. I have been trying to print business cards using Avery Design Pro. The layout looks perfect when I design the card; but when the card is printed using my printer the cards are printed too high on the page. The manual that accompanied my printer when purchased does not tell me how to realign the printing. I have checked the calibration and that appears to be fine. I have also tried printing the cards on another printer during a tutorial at the Apple Store. The cards were properly aligned with the Avery business cards when printed on the Apple Store's printer. So my question is: How do I direct my printer to begin printing lower on the page? I need a slightly larger margin at the top of the page. Thank you for you help, Lynnee Lance

    same same...
variations on the wrong vertical alignment
    horizontal is fine.
My guess is the paper type is causing the feeder to be affected without it adjusting?
If there is a solution other than just wasting paper time and ink that wold be wonderful.
Please HP or Avery enlighten us.... Please

SOLVED! Try this fix! The key is to fool the printer software into thinking it's printing on plain, not expensive glossy or heavy weight paper. http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Other-printing-questions/Solved-All-in-Ones-Misalignment-on-Costco-or-Heavy-Photo-Paper/m-p/325349

In printing properties and printing preferences be sure and tell the printer you're printing labels, it allows more time for the card stock to reach the starting point.

Avery design pro will not print with my HP C5500

I found an odd workaround. Probably a better one available, but this worked for me. When you select Print from Design Pro, in the printer drop down box select Microsoft XPS Document Writer instead of your printer. Click OK, enter a file name, and save. That will save a .xps file. Next, open the .xps file and print it.

I can no longer print from my Mac to my HP Photosmart C4280. This happened after changing the ink. My HP icons are no longer in menu bar either. When I try to print the HP makes a loud noise and shoots the paper through at rocket speed with terrible print quatlity.

I cant print business cards on my hp c5280

Verify no pieces of the card paper are missing and try printing on plain paper to make sure. Then try new card paper and make sure none of the perforations are separated.

HP C4280 incorrect paper feed

Check your printer's capability.

Buy the card stock they recommend.

If all else fails, print on plain and take card stock to a copy shop and have them do it for you.

Walking there beats going nuts over stupid software or hardware problems

USB Not Connected

first..check through the HP icon here, to see if that printer has a IMAC driver

that might get you there...I'm sure that the USB ports on your IMAC are working..

you can check them with some other device, of course.
