its a ce-3700 and there was no print out after flag clear, just beeping and error 04.
We have unplugged the machine and resorted to an old one. Have contacted Casio for help and said the batter might be dead.
    Thanks anyway :)

Hi. What was your model number?

Also, when the machine printed out after the flag clear, there should have been a big number printed at the bottom (usually with the word INIT or FC). Can you tell me what the number is? If you no longer have the printout, just flag clear again.

Hi. Yes, I'd say the battery has either failed, or gone flat from being left off for too long.

I helped someone else with the same problem. The complete solution is here.:

If the codes mentioned don't work for your version, just let me know.

E004 Error INIT/FC

You need to finish the flag clear.
Turn key to PROGRAM mode. Turn power off at wall. Hold RECEIPT FEED down - keep your finger on it. Turn power on at wall. Wait 5 seconds, then let go of RECEIPT FEED. You should see "FFFFFFFFFF" on display. Press SUBTOTAL. Wait for print out. Turn back to REG mode (you may need to sign back on)

I have just baught a second hand casio TE8500f cash register and every time i turn it on it displays init 1.flag clear 2.init2 and every button i press it then displays operator mistake

Highlight "flag clear" and press YES button. If it still does not work, you have a flat or (usually) faulty memory battery and it will need to be RAM cleared then re-programmed.

I have casio ce-3700 cash register and i have problem E04 and noies come beep any one help me plz.

This is caused by incomplete initialisation. it means the program may be corrupt from being unplugged for too long, or you may have a bad battery inside the machine (change it every five years).
Firstly, try a flag clear to jump it back to REG mode:
Turn power off at wall Turn key to program position Hold down RECEIPT FEED button. Keep your finger on it. Turn power on at wall Wait 5 seconds, then let go of RECEIPT FEED Press SUBTOTAL
Turn key back to REG mode and try it. If the programming is corrupt, you will often see the decimal point in the wrong place.
If you want to re-program it, there is a manual for the CE-3700 here:

TE-8500F says Device ID Not Set when I try to use Credit

I have a few questions.
1. where did the Datacap come from, or was the register programmed to use the datacap?
2. there is a place in pgm3 wheere you assign devices, its called I/O and in there you have to enter the right codes for it to work. Also after its been installed you must do a FLAG CLEAR.
3 To do a flag clear on an 8500 on the right side turn the machine off hold down the REC FEED button. While holding down the buton turn the machine back on and wait till the screen comes back and press subtotal. after that it will go through a bunch of funny looking stuff and the it will come to screen where it asks if you want to flag clear or init 2 use #1 flag clear and press yes. sign on and test.

Casio CE-3700 cash register MAC instructions

Hi. I would advise both of you to try a flag clear first to see if you have any program left.

Turn key to program. Power off at wall.
Hold RECEIPT FEED, and turn power on at wall.
Wait 10 seconds, then let go of RECEIPT FEED.
When you see 'FFFFFFFFF' press SUBTOTAL.
Turn key back to REG and try it.

If you still need help, let me know.

Casio cash register not working

error code 1 on your cash register is due to Mode switch position changed before finalization
you can fix this error by Returning the mode switch to its original setting (does not beep) and finalize the operation

Casio te-8500f

With the power switch off, hold down the RECEIPT FEED button and turn the register on.

Continue to hold the button until white text shows up on the screen.

Release the button and press the SUB-TOTAL button.

When the register asks "1. Flag Clear / 2. Something Else", select "1. Flag Clear" and press yes.

This is the Casio ECR equivalent of CTRL-ALT-DEL; it should fix the printer-cycling issue.

Cheers!
