Question about Microsoft Office Professional 2007 Full Version for PC

Word closes when I click on the top tool bar

Hi, When I click on the circle icon on the top tool bar in word2007 to go to open or print. My document closes. I thought maybe I had a virus and ran a scan. I came out clean. I then tried the office diagnostic scan and came out fine. Any other ideas?

How to set watermark at printer?


normally the water mark is set in the document as it is being prepared , same as headers and footers
The printer just prints the document as it is presented
open up a new document in the tool bar at the top you will see tabs --home --insert---design--page lay out etc
click on design and to the right you will see an icon with watermark under it
that is the section that you use to put a water mark on the document you can open a document already saved and you may also be able to add the watermark after it has been completed as it is a change to the document

I don't know how to disable "keep printed documents". I have an Artisan 800 series printer.


Hi Michelle,

Follow the steps below and you will be able to fix the issue.

Click on START button
Click on Control Panel ( or Settings for windows XP )
Click and open Printers and Faxes ( or Printer folder icon )
Highlight the Printer icon and Right click on it
Left Click on Printer properties
Click on Advanced TAB on top and look for "Keep Printed Documents"
If there is a Check mark, you can Uncheck it.
If there is no check mark on it, Check mark it.
Click Apply/OK and Close the window and try to print.


If this does not resolve the issue, Try the step below

1. Open Printers and Faxes.

2. Right mouse click on the Epson printer and left click Properties.

3. Click on the Advanced tab.

4. Click the Print Processor button.

5. Under Print Processor, select WinPrint.

6. Under Default Datatype, make sure RAW is selected. Click OK.

7. Back on the Advanced tab remove the check next to Keep Printed
Documents.

8. Click Apply and OK.

Default Printer Issue
The wrong printer is set as the default. See the image below for an illustration.

What to do
Open the Printers or Printer and Faxes folder and locate the correct printer icon. To do this:


    1. -In Windows XP, click Start > Settings > Printer and Faxes (or Start > Control Panel > Printers and Faxes).
      -In Windows Vista, click Start > Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Printers.

    2. Right-click on the printer icon, and click Set as Default Printer. A check mark displayed above the printer icon now identifies it as your default printer.

    3. Try printing again.

Topic 3: Printer is "Offline"

What to do

Topic 4: Printer is not Ready
The printer is in an "Intervention Requested" state (e.g. paper jam, paper out) but no Windows print error notification message is displayed.
Explanation
The print job cleared the print queue. This means the print queue icon has disappeared from the notification area ('systray') of the task bar. The printer is holding the job, however, until the the printer is returned to a ready state.
What to do
Check the printer LCD, or operator panel menu, to verify that the printer is in a ready state. If not, return it to the required status.
Topic 5: Printer is Paused
The printer or print queue is paused and the print queue icon remains in the notification area ('systray') of the task bar.
Explanation
This is typically an end user error. Dragging the mouse cursor over the print queue icon in the notification area will reveal (1,2,3) document(s) pending for (User name).
What to do

    1. Double-click on the print queue icon to open the print queue. (This may also appear as a small printer icon in the lower-right notification area of the task bar.)
    2. Click on Printer in the upper left-hand corner of the menu bar.
    3. Is there a check mark next to Pause Printing?

      -If yes, click on Pause Printing to turn off this Windows feature.
      -If no, confirm that there is a check mark next to Set As Default Printer and make sure Use Printer Offline is not selected.

A problem with the Windows print spooler is preventing successful printing.
What to try
Stop and start the Windows print spooler. To do this:

  • -In Windows XP, click Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services, click on Print Spooler, click on Stop the service, and then click on Start the service.

  • -In Windows Vista, click Start, type services.msc in the Start Search box, and then click services.msc in the Programs list. Right-click on Print Spooler, and then click Stop. Finally, right-click on Print Spooler again, and then click Start.

Remove the first print job from the print queue. To do this:

  1. Double-click on the print queue icon to open the print queue. (This may also appear as a small printer icon in the lower-right notification area of the task bar.)

  2. Click on the first job listed so that it is highlighted.

  3. Click on Document in the top menu bar.

  4. Click on Cancel.

  5. Click Yes when you see: "Are you sure you want to cancel the selected jobs?"

To resolve this error code:
  1. Close Home Center Software.
  2. Go to Start>Computer.
  3. Show hidden files and folders:
    • Select Tools>Folder Options.

      NOTE: If the Tools menu is not available on the menu bar, press the <Alt> key on the keyboard, and then a menu bar with the Tools menu will appear.
    • Select the View tab.
    • In the Advanced Settings, select Show hidden files or folders.

Thanks for using FixYa. The easiest way is to switch off the printer. However, basically you can double click on printer icon showing in the bottom of the tool bar of the window and select cancel all printing documents. Then all the printing documents will be stopped printing by the Printer.

To send a fax directly from OpenOffice.org, you need a fax modem and a fax driver that allows applications to communicate with the fax modem.
Sending a Fax Through the Print Dialog
1. Open the Print dialog by choosing File - Print and select the fax driver in the Name list box.
2. Clicking OK opens the dialog for your fax driver, where you can select the fax recipient.



Configuring OpenOffice.org a Fax Icon
You can configure OpenOffice.org so that a single click on an icon automatically sends the current document as a fax:
1. Choose Tools - Options - OpenOffice.org Writer - Print.
2. Select the fax driver from the Fax list box and click OK.
3. Click the arrow icon at the end of the Standard bar. In the drop-down menu, choose Customize.
The Toolbars tab page of the Customize dialog appears.
4. Click Add Commands.
5. Select the “Documents” category, then select the “Send Default Fax” command.
6. Click Add and then Close.
7. On the Toolbars tab page, click the down arrow button to position the new icon where you want it. Click OK.
Your Standard bar now has a new icon to send the current document as a fax.

log on to lexmark website..www.lexmark.com ...downloaded lexmark tool bar to ur desk top ...once download is complete .install tool bar...then open web page..don not print from file..instead use the printer icon on the top right corner to print...this should fix it

Canon MP810 printer will not print documents, messages come up on screen: printer not responding, printer offline, document failed to print. Other capabilities are fine.


Hi, there is a possibility that the printer is set off-line or there is a pending print job that was stucked in queue. To check that please go to printer & faxes, right click on the printer icon (your printer), cancel all documents and click yes. Then right click again on the printer icon then select use printer on line. Try printing. If issue still present, restart prinrt spooler services. To access print spooler, goto control panel then administrative tools then select services. Scroll down the vertical scroll bar until select print spooler. Open it then click on stop then start. Try printing again.

First print doesn't work


are you using msword?
Spooling while printing does not work when printing from Microsoft Word. SOLUTION: Resolve this issue as follows:
  1. In the Microsoft Word menu bar click Tools then Options .
  2. Select the Print tab.
  3. Uncheck the Background Printing option.
  4. Re-send the print job.
The printer is in Ready mode, but nothing prints. SOLUTION:
  1. Restart the computer.
  2. Verify that all of the cables are properly seated and within specifications. This includes the USB, network, and power cables. Try a new cable.
  3. Reinstall the printer software. In the Windows task bar, click Start , Programs , HP , HP LaserJet 10xx series , and then click Uninstall HP LaserJet 10xx series . Turn the printer off. Install the printer software from the CD. Turn the printer back on.
  4. Close any applications that are running. To close an application that has an icon in the task bar, right-click the icon, and select Close or Disable .
