I have an Acer comp with Athlon X2 6000+ processor running at 3.0GHz with a 3GB HD and 500 SATA II. It has Vista Home Premium 32 bit loaded at the OS. A few days ago I installed a MS VX-6000 LifeCam. I also updated the driver to 2.04 version. Also, with my ISP, my download speed is around 25,000kbs and upload us around 1,600kbs. The software for the webcam loaded fine (to the best of my knowledge), but when I'm using it to make a video call it locks up on me. This is usually proceeded by lots of black specks appearing on the screen. Usually it will unlock, but on occasion not. If it does unlock it usually takes a while. Right now I'm not sure if it is a camera issue, camera software issue or a Vista issue. Personally, I'm leaning towards either a camera issue or a Vista problem. Any thoughts / help?

I have the exact same problem, I can use it in skype but as soon as I try Yahoo! Messanger (Bloody Vist Home basic dosn't run Windows) it is unrecognized same with the computer if you look at My Computer it isn't there?? I think it is the whole plug and play thing?? Anyone else got the same problem?
Try disconnecting the Camera from the USB port and reinstall
the CD or Downloaded software program. When the program asks you
to connect the camera to the USB port, do so and it should work.
Hope this helps. Bud
