Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

1 Answer

I have a Canon MF4690 and when changing the toner cartridge, a small guide attached with two small springs came off and can not see how it reattaches. I think it could be the guide for 2 sided copies, but not sure.

Imageclass mf4690 has streaks in copies

Several possibilities: if copying using the ADF - clean the glass under the ADF feed. If a print is the same as a copy - check the toner cartridge. This type of cartridge collects heaps of junk in the waste chamber which interferes with the print when nearly empty. If neither of those - dust on the imaging scanner = refer to service dude.

How do i change the toner on this copy machine?

Canon iR3300 copier /image runner is a best machine which is not needed any expert mechanic. Thanks to the manufacturer. If the toner in the cartridge was completed a message may be displayed on the screen that 'refill the toner'. Even though there will be a small quantuty of toner in the cartridge the message may be appear on the screen. Please don't bother about this mesaage. You may think the machine be damaged some where else. You might have handling the 'motor bike' or 'scooter' and you may experienced about the resrve . i.e. even though there is some petrol in the petrol tank of vehicle , the vihicle may stops to work. After filling of the petrol the vehile may run as usual. So , after the reserve of toner in the cop[ier the machine will stops to work. The you have to refill the toner cartridge with the fine quality toner of 1/2 kg or with 1kg. The cost of the toner may be Rs.500/- to Rs.650/- depending on the quality and the company and availability of the toner in the market. The toner must be compatible with the iR 3300 copier. After purchasing of the toner you must shufle the toner bag up and down nearly (100) times , so that the toner in the bag may thouroghly mixed and see that there will not be hard particles. Then remove the front cover gently and turn the side levers 1). left lever to left side and 2). right lever to down side. Then gently drag the toner cartridge of only 3/4 size. Please don't try to remove the toner cartridge completly out side of the machine. The costliest cartridge and not avialability of the new cartridge in the market may be break. At the front and top of the cartridge , there will be small lever attached to the cover of cartridge . Just hold the front ant and top of the cartridge with middle fingers and thumb fingers either side of the cartridge by both the hands and just press the levers out side towards you with the fore fingers of both the hands.. Then drag the cover only 3/4 of cover out side towards yourself. Make a small hole at the corner of the toner bag and pour the toner gently in to the cartridge. while pouring the toner in to the cartridge gently move the cartridge inside and out side , so that the toner may evenly spread in the cartridge. After pouring of hole toner , close the cover the cartridge by pressing the edge of the cover from out side and then press the cartridge in to the machine and there after turn the levers in to the original position and close the front cover.

The error code says "Toner is not set". Removing and reinstalling the toner cassette does not resolve the problem. Any ideas?

To clear this message: remove toner cartridge, look into the cavity and locate the contact that matches the contacts on the FX-9 toner cartridge.
It is on the left side of the machine.
This contact is probably caught in the down position or stuck behind the plastic.
You can wiggle it out by flexing the spring just below it.
This should allow it to spring back into place.
Now replace the cartridge and all should be fine.
hope it works for u
all the best !!!!

Hello
I think it is firmware problem.I only found firmware update tool for MF 4150.I am not sure this is also for 4690 but i think i do this before for this machine and it works. So you can try it.It can also be a problem with cartridge contacts so yuu can try to check it.

There are two contact on the right wall off the printer cartridge chamber area. They can get pushed in causing the printer cartridge to not read correctly. Take a small Flathead screwdriver and bend them up so the cartridge ink level can be read.

The Unit where you've put the toner cartridge could be to far from the drum. Make sure your developer unit (unit where you've put the cartridge in) is locked in place.
