Question about Linksys Wireless-G Broadband Router
I have been using a Linksys router wrt54 successfully for a couple of years between the cable modem and computer. For no apparent reason it stopped working and I can't connect to the internet using the router. I tried the reset method. Didn't work. Can't find my original installation disk. The company gave me another set of directions which required me to open the browser and type in an IP address in the address bar. The browser portal is the cable company homepage and the IP address is not accepted. What's best way to get the router working again? Unplug everything and try reset again?
Alright, start with the basic Gateway IP. http://192.168.0.1 That is what i use to access my router's (yeah, we run just a few more computers than normal people) Anyways, If that doesnt work, then the router has been changed beyond a normal spectrum of Ip configurations. Next step is to recontact Linksys and Let them know directly that the IP Address for accessing the router is not working. Meaning you have no Access to the router at all. Almost all routers use the same base access router ip setup. Its rare to find different unless you are like a few people, who find they need to run at least 2 or more routers on the same internet connection because of too many computers.
