My water pan is corroded. What can I use to recoat the pan? Do I sand down to base material then prime then coat?

Sand off all the corrosion to bare metal. Use a metal etch to scrub it down (any phosphoric acid will do), this can be gotten at Home depot or any home center in the paint section (also know as naval jelly). Clean the area with clean water after applying the acid and let dry. The naval jelly will leave a slight coating after the rinsing and this will prevent rusting afterward. Prime the metal with automotive primer, 2 or 3 coats will do. Let each coat dry completely. Use an epoxy paint (I've used single stage polyurethane and 2 part mixable epoxy type). The 2 part mixable epoxy is more expensive but lasts indefinitely and gets very hard). McMaster-Carr Supply has these products and they can be ordered on line. Apply the paint, let it dry according to the manufacturers directions and you shouldn't have any problems.

I dropped some tile on the shower base while I was tiling. It compressed and chipped the edge. No leak that I can tell but it looks bad. Can I repair this?

They sell a white marine epoxy which may be suitable for the repair you describe. If I
needed to sand it afterward I would use 2000 grit wet dry to feather the edges. Hope this
helps. The epoxy is sold at home depot in the paint department. You could also check
with someone who does gel coat repairs on boats through your local marine dealer.

A wanna bee show off ran into me and chipped the top of my NEW Nidecker Ultralight It's about 1/2" X 5" around the rear tail. I can see frying of the carbon fiber under the chipped top coat....

If you want it to look good, just a bit of epoxy plus paint will do the job.
But if some of the carbon fiber is cut in some places, you want to buy some carbon fiber fabric or even glass fiber fabric (more easily found) dip it into epoxy then place it on the hole, it will be stronger than epoxy alone but might not look that good, it's just a question of what you need.

The 'paper' cones on both woofers have split - is it possible to get replacements - if so can you tell me where from

You may be able to repair them. Get some finger nail polish - doesn't matter what color or type. Support the paper parts so they rest together without your assistance and "paint" the front side with the polish. Let dry ( about 15 minutes) and recoat. Let dry and coat the back side twice. Allow to set overnight and it should work, as long as you don't turn it up too loud. If you want to blast, after applying th3e first coat put a small strip of Tissue or rice paper over the split and recoat. Do at least 4 coats each side and put that thin paper on both sides. This will repair the paper but will not help a warped voice coil. If you have diminished sound levels coming from your sub you may need to replace the voice coil inside the speaker itself. Hope this helps and please rate my solution!!

The original sealer is coming off in thick pieces . How do I remove this before I reseal the tank on my 95 harley? Thank you.

I assume you're talking about the tank sealer on the INSIDE of the tank. If so, you may can use acetone or a 50/50 mix of muriatic acid. Be very careful with either chemical. The acetone is very flammable and the muriatic acid will burn your skin and eyes.

To have the tanks recoated, take them to a radiator shop and have the "red coat" stuff put in them. Don't mess with Creme or any of that stuff, it's junk and that's probably what is coming off inside your tank now. I've never seen original Harley tank liner come off. Good Luck.

How to repair cracked corner of black ceramic cooktop

Epoxy would not work. If it is a very small chip and is NOT STRUCTURAL or in the heated are you could TRY the adhesive used for rear view mirror to glass attachment.

There are hair line cracks in the side wall panel of the inside lining of the refrigerator that run parallel to one of the shelves. Any thoughts? Kitchen Aid S/S REFRIG. KSRG25FKSS

im thinking you got a cracked refrigerator liner!! heres the problem with that, its strictly a cosmetic issue, in years past kit aid would consider that a non-field repairable issue and change to refrig out for you.now they've come out with a repair, consisting of an epoxy kit that we go out and epoxy the crack(s) for you, although still noticeable far less than a cracked liner. if necessary and enough cracks in wall they have an epoxy liner kit that will cover entire side wall of the refrig, all depends on the affected area. ive done quite a few epoxy repairs, never a complete panel, but the few epoxy repairs ive done the customer seemed satisfied with the result..again strictly cosemtic issue so ifyou leave it alone oyou will be endangering absolutly nothing exept an unsightly crack.
