Question about Pioneer GM-3200T Car Audio Amplifier

Flickering power light

I've had my amp hooked up to my sub for a couple months and have not had any problems. However, recently, my sub has been turning on and off while I'm listening to music. The light on the front of the amp, which comes on when power is going to it flickers and as of now it seems to blink. I have no idea what the problem is. Is it just a wiring problem? Or does the blinking of the light signal some sort of other problem?

Re: Flickering power light

Does your amp get hot enough to cook an egg on?? Because I had this same problem but it wasn't a good make amp, and what the actual problem was is that the amp was not big enough to support the sub I had on it! Check the heat of the amp and maybe move it to a place where it gets more air and also check the watts on your sub and the power output on your amp.

Why won't my subs turn off after i hooked it up to

ive seen that happen a couple times and i have a few solutions, but first whats the year and make of the car? and also did you splice the remote wire for the amp to the remote wire to the factory deck, or did you use a line out converter that picks up speaker current and sends a signal to turn the amp on? and last question is does just the amp stay on with no noise coming from the subs?

does the sine wave recreate itself ever? always?

disconnect the RCAs and power up/down. same ascending noise?

ascending sine is usually a leaky capacitor...

My subs/amp are not working

when you car is running, it charges the battery somewhat. So the voltage problem is not a problem. The red light means the amp is going into ''Protect Mode". This usually happens when something is wrong with the amp. Usually the amp is getting hot. Check all of you connectiong and check the final impedance of the subs. Make sure the amp can handle the impedance of the subs. If you need anymore help, message me.

Hello srolson,

When electronic components are brand new their tolerances will allow more variation. Once you get down to a 1 ohm load, the actual impedance may vary somewhat below what the amp is capable of handling. Maxxing anything out accelerates how quickly it degrades. When new the amp can deal with putting maximum power into a minimum load, but as the components heat up and wear with age, the tolerances change.

Hope this helps.

My kenwood kac-929 1000w amplifier is not powering my sub

unless you are a technician do not mess with the amplifier.
it takes years of school to learn electronics. unless it is a blown fuse or something simple, you will never fix it.
i did kenwood warranty for 8 years and the amplifiers are difficult to repair.

Audiobahn amp help...

You have a Direct Short in the System Between the Head Unit and the Amp. Check the Ground on the Amp and then Check all the Wires behind the Stereo and the Common Ground There. You could even have a Spot in the New RCA Cables that is Touching Metal Somewhere. Please Rate My Response! Thanks!

KAC-9102d no sound, Amp powers on but no sound to the subs.

If the sub isn't working, you won't get a pop. All you need is a small speaker. Don't need a sub, you just want to test the sound. I recently blew 2 subs, no smoke, no smell, no sign of being blown. Absolutely nothing from the subs.... In the past my sub locked up. You can take your sub out of the box and hook the + and - to the battery to see if you can get the sub to pop there. I believe a small box will push a sub into a deep excursion to the center of the cone. I have 2 lanzar VW12D's that just quit. I hooked a 6 x 9 up to my amp and low and behold I had sound! Try that and see what you get...

My amp wont give me any power

all the p series amps were discontinued for similar problems, they have a newer model out now. they have very weak boards internally and failed faster when mounted to the sub enclosure or very close to it from subsonic vibration. i would guess the amp is toasted.
