Disconnect the web cam, from the computer, and reboot without web cam. After the computer comes up,connect the web cam and the computer should recognize it, if not reinstall the firmware again.

Hi Friend, As you have mentioned that you are not able to see the Web cam on the system. I would like you to please try and check if the drivers for the webcam are installed on the system, if, the drivers are not there then you might have received the webcam disc at the time of buying the system. So, run the disc and install the drivers for the same
Also I would like to tell you to please check if you get any error messages while opening the web cam application

just click the file...and click " save " to start download....using winrar (and or winzip), extract the file and install driver for your web cam

But first connect your web cam via usb slot on your computer... wait till a message on the taskbar apper: found new hardware..once ask for a driver.. choose one from the driver and install it.

Once you have your webcam, you have the drivers and softwares cd with you. If you do not have that then install the required drivers of your webcam from internet, else install the same from the cd. Now connect your webcam with your system.

Yes, all web cams are supposed to come with a CD where the drivers are. Usually drivers can also be downloaded from the manufacturer's website.
